Bad Points: Some rather miserable types in there, working and and shopping, but hey, you get that in Harrods (so I've heard).
General comments: Started using my Local Poundstretcher last christmas when I discovered they had really good value xmas lights. Since then my real bargains there have been the 'groovy chick' kids clothing, truly gorgeous dresses for my daughter (age 4) 100% cotton at £4 each, lots of people asked me where they were from. Also I get there scented candles in tins, just 75p each, bali and vanilla are lovely, light them when I'm in the tub. I find a lot of their home wares are really quite good, between them and the woolworth's 'worth it' range you can make a little go a long way.

If you want to go to a nice friendly store, the come to Ramsgate Kent. It's clean, friendly and very reasonably priced, plus the food is cheap compared to other supermarket stores.- Read tamirra's review (72 words)

A new manager at Poundstretcher advised he could not give me a refund or replacement on a packet of 48p chocolates which were all sweaty. I have had to return their chocolates in the past for being damaged goods by sweating in the bag, but I was absolutely astounded to find he would not change a bag which was oozing soft chocolate out of the centre and completely sticky all over the inside of the bag.
This is beyond belief, especially as the receipt was within time and shown, and the goods ...- Read suzieemm's review (212 words)

I would definitely go back again, as this girl was brilliant! Even my husband said it was like a new bathroom with the products the girl added to it.
I would definitely recommend Poundstretcher.- Read seaneen's review (65 words and 1 comment)

If Poundstretcher does not want pushchairs or disabled assisted vehicles in the store, why no notice outside? There are notices asking for assistance but that defeats the idea of independent shopping of the Disability Act. To get a wheelchair or pushchair round the store is impossible. The aisles are cluttered and now the aisles have hangers fixed to the shelves protruding into space for customers. When it is possible to get to some parts of the store, the goods are exactly what is needed.- Read isame's review (84 words)

Staff at the Oswestry in Shropshire Branch of Poundstretcher are brilliant. Right from customer service i.e. helping lesser able bodied shoppers carry to car or suggesting parking at rear of store and they will help you, down to useful advice on products. Don't be so quick to tar every branch with the same brush.
The Manager of Oswestry is courteous and obliging whilst dealing with faulty goods refunds.
A good range of products from every day goods through to more luxury items. Good sales to ...- Read tateylou's review (86 words)

A visit to Fleetwood branch[Poundstrecher] on 17.2.06. Staff were most unhelpful and uninterested in my query leaving me and a disabled person at the till, [for 8 mins] checking a price [incidentally they did not find the price] no apology for being left to stand. Meanwhile a queue formed. Staff could not make a decision. No manager available. Executives must be wooried if they view the till CCtv footage of what goes on there. Useful footage for Staff Training though. They have lost a customer t ...- Read mrianr's review (105 words and 2 comments)

I have made small purchases over the years in either their Wembley, or Harlesden branches, and have been pleased with what I have purchased. I think their goods are OK as long as you stay away from the 'dirt cheap' range. e.g, they have irons for £9, but I wouldn't buy one. I would buy things like flower seeds, or a cutlery drainer, a lampshade, or shower gel, or a table cloth, or extension cable etc...
If you want top quality then be prepared to pay to get it. If not, then poundstrech ...- Read sheran's review (170 words)

Poundstretcher - I bought their own brand of greenhouse from their Edgware shop which was the last one. I tried to assemble it and found a part missing and others bent out of shape. I returned it and was told their will be no refund or replacement as it was after 28 days. The manager was rude and unhelpful. He refused to give me their head office no. and said "this is Poundstretcher for god sake" referring to their customer service. If you really have to buy their products, make sure you check i ...- Read jayjay2's review (133 words and 1 comment)

I felt the need to let people know about Brabantia's excellent customer service and products. I own a 50L Brabantia Touch Bin, which quite frankly is genius. (I know, it's only a bin!!) You simply touch the top of the bin and silently the lid lifts so you can place your waste into it effortlessly and cleanly. It looks very stylish, and is however quite pricey. Mine cost £80 2 years ago. Unfortuneately my lid doesn't work properly now - so I contacted customer services at Brabantia to reque ...- Read johegartyswain's review (129 words and 11 comments)

I have visited a number of Poundstretcher stores. I like the ones in the slightly rougher end of town best though some of the new out of town ones, like Bury St Edmunds, cater for a full shopping experience. I generally like them beacause I had a terrific 99p filofax type thing from there in the 1980s bought from the Loughborough store which I really liked and made me very proud. Their blank tapes had a lot of background noise though. Boots-bought TDK D90s were much better.- Read swilcock's review (119 words and 2 comments)

Most of the Poundstretcher stores I have visited are very run down. The outside of the store in Dundee is not very clean and the inside of the store is just as bad. I have also had to return faulty goods for a refund and have met with unpleasant and unhelpful staff. This is one customer the Poundstretcher group has lost.- Read reidrz's review (120 words)

I have been to a few of the Poundstretchers over the UK. While they are value for money the stores are very badly laid out and absolutly no good for disabled people. Once or twice I have had to take items back because they were faulty, and the service was not that good.- Read sunnibeami's review (74 words)
