Nectar points are a great idea, you shop in certain places (Sainsbury, BP) and are rewarded with points. Over a period of a year they can add up to a fair amount.

Unfortunately Nectar have little in the way of security as we discovered to our cost. We had saved about £120 worth of points over a year, when shopping in Sainsbury's recently we discovered someone had helped themselves to 23000 points (£115). At first the call centre staff (based in India) didn't have an answer, I guess it wasn't on the standard responses sheet they are given. Eventually we managed to speak to someone in the UK who said the points had been used in Edinburgh on a date we had been in Milton Keynes (300 miles away). Even though we could provide proof of our location, they informed us they would have to open an investigation as points never go missing.

A few days later one of their staff admitted Nectar had a problem with the company who make the Nectar key fobs. Even though they had now admitted it was their fault, they wouldn't add back the points.

A few days later again, another call, this time a different story, we would have to send back our cards so they could look at them. As a matter of goodwill they would credit back the lost points. Goodwill? Since when has sorting out their error been goodwill?

Although using Sainsbury's for the main shopping is more expensive than some stores, at least the Nectar points can be used to offset costs like the Christmas shop! I use my card every time I fill up at the garage as well! Over the year I accumulated about £30.00 just from the fuel alone. I had over £60 in total last Christmas. Free, easy to use - daft not to really! (Also be cheeky when at the checkout somebody says they don't have a card, ask if they wouldn't mind if you had their ...

I've had a Nectar card since it replaced the Sainsbury's Reward Card. I had £50 worth of rewards on my Sainsbury's card but Nectar conveniently lost all the details of this when it was transferred so I lost out on those rewards. I've recently found that my Nectar card is no longer registered and so new points are not added to it and, once again, all the points I've collected over the years have disappeared. I've just had a chat with the Nectar Chatline, but the only response I got from him ...

The Nectar Card scheme needs to be closely monitored and if you are not prepared to monitor your points online at nectar.com then you may be missing out.
In the past three months I have signed up to three bonus offers and not received the points within 28 days and had to contact Nectar to get them rewarded (Sainsburys and Thomson Local).
Similarly Hertz only awarded normal points even though I signed up to triple points.
I have also not received points from Beefeater at all when my card was ...

To get any value out of Nectar Card you really have to play the game. If you are only going to use it when you shop at Sainsbury's then you could be waiting a very long time to get any value back. As a sainsbury's reward card I'd give it 1 out of 10.The smart people use their Nectar card at BP, EDF Energy, Nectar Wine Club (not a bad scheme) and Nectar eStores (you get points on your online shopping at Amazon, eBay and about 200 more online retailers). If you want to boost your points even furth ...

Sainsbury's is my local supermarket, and after shopping there for a couple of months I decided it would cause me no great loss to join in on the Nectar card scheme, and I have been busily collecting my points ever since.

I use it every time I visit Sainsbury's, which is usually about once a week. However, I don't think the incentives of how many points you have to collect to obtain certain things is made clear. I use my card all the time and have not once received a letter saying I had so man ...

I had accumulated a great number of points on my Nectar Card (enough for a waffle iron or a day out at Alton Towers or something) and decided to keep collecting until I could get something better. The only problem is that at the same time, someone else had their own ideas to use my points.
I received a points update and a few hundred points had gone missing. Upon checking, they told me that I had claimed them towards an item at Argos. No such transaction occurred but they would offer me no f ...

I find the Nectar card beneficial as I earn points in Sainsburys when I buy my food and I then spend the vouchers I earn in Adams on clothes for my baby as they are worth more in there than anywhere else. The points do mount up very quickly and you can collect your vouchers at your registered store. On the downside it's quite difficult to make any changes to your card as the website isn't always working as it should and some staff don't seem familiar with the practicalities of the Nectar card. I ...

Nectar Card- People tend to fall into two categories: They either like loyalty cards or they hate them. I'm someone who likes getting things for free, and so far as I'm concerned, getting a reward for shopping somewhere I'd do my shopping anyway can't be bad.

Nectar was originally a replacement reward card for Sainsbury's shoppers, but unlike most reward cards, when Nectar was launched (or when the Sainsbury's reward card was relaunched as Nectar) it had expanded the number of shops you could ...

Having a Nectar Loyalty Card is being loyal to your local
shops and buying the goods. Collecting points .......... to spend in the shop or to spend at other shops or to have days out.
