    “OK, but not great”

The print quality is not too bad but I had to remortgage my house to afford the ink. I would recomend looking at printers with cheaper ink!

“This Epson Stylus Photo RX500 is the first 3 in 1...”

This Epson Stylus Photo RX500 is the first 3 in 1 Multifunction Printer, Scanner and Copier to have 6 inks, which I had been waiting for. This was to save room and to save the trouble of setting up each device. My priority was a good printer, which turned out to be brilliant. BUT here comes the crunch, you need to have a degree in computer studies to operate the stupid thing. It realy is difficult to operate. It seems to have a mind of its own. Printing on its own, printing on start up without any instructions. The controls on the front have no meaning. Pressing any of them has no effect. The LCD panel will not change what ever you do. I have managed to print a number of prints, but I can't use the same method each time. It is hit and miss. Instructions are useless. I have contacted Epson, but even they had trouble trying to instruct me. I asked them to send me the instructions they gave eventualy on the telephone, but they they did not have them in print or on the net or on any software.I could mention a number of faults, but enough said, you will have to make up your own mind. Should a printer be so difficult to use?

I have used the RX500 and found it very easy to use, if your reviewer is having problems then maybe he should RTFM (read the flipping manual).

I was delighted with the printer but after 13 months a service warning came up. 48 hours later it stopped working all together with the note "error". I expect to be told that the machine is not worth repairing. As a consequence I am looking at the HP Photosmart 2610 as a replacement.

I have the printer and its not rocket science to use it. Seriously its not that hard. As I just got it yesterday I'm impressed with its speed, quality and detail of the pictures, its also the quietest printer I've ever had. The scanner is a bonus as well because it is top quality. The only problem is that the printer is quite bulky.

The rx500 is simplicity itself to use. The front panel is a doddle. Read the manual!!
