My Ceramix died on me this morning. The light comes on, but the plates do not get hot. To be fair, I have had it for over 6 years. I have wavy hair and my Ceramix just never really seemed to get it completey straight. I would recommend it for straightening bangs and strands, but not an entire head of hair.

I have the basic model of the Ceramic fat iron straighteners. I got it discounted from a friend who used to be a hair dresser for $80 CDN. It does heat up very fast, but I have very curly hair and until I figured out that you have to go over the bits you are straightening with a rat tailed comb, it didn't work very well. Now I'm pretty satisfied. I've had it for about 3 years, and it works fine for me. I don't use it too often though.
