I bought this third hand(!) when I moved into a flat and it was already in situ. Fantastic machine, fast, quiet and efficient. I've had no grumbles with it whatsoever - and at seven years old it's showing no signs of giving up yet. I can't comment on the service /repairs as its never needed anything! (read more)

My second AEG failure in 15 years but this one after only 3 years. Lavamat 86741 was great while it lasted-loved the internal light but plastic drawer fascia and drain access now falling off. We had the dreaded C9 fault code come up this weekend so it is time to move on...My machines take quite a hammering as they are on most days at least once but can't quite bring myself to pay £1000 for a Meile no matter how long it lasts... I am replacing it with a John Lewis own brand! (read more)

The AEG ko Lavamat 86741 is the best machine we ever had. It is so silent, you can even put it in your bedroom. Water consumption with 39 l only makes you saving a lot of money so that the little high price will turn into benefits.
The water analysis makes save time and money as well, as the machine automaticaly stops when the textile is clean and it does not run stupidly for nothing. With the quick program you can even wash amounts of textile in a short time.
This is a quite professional...

The AEG ko Lavamat 86741 looks good and so quiet it is hard to tell if its on. Washes well. The delay start is useful for returning home or waking up to a fresh wash. The internal light is a nice idea for spotting elusive socks. (read more)

I've never found AEG bearings to ever go, especially within 5 years. In fact I sell quite a few (about 20 a year) and touch wood, in the last 12 years I've never had to repair one, except one which was through misuse. However I did replace a 3 year old built in OKO AEG last year because the bearings had gone, but this was down to the customer admitting they regularly overloaded the machine because they were misold it as having a large capacity, which it didn't (it was only 5KG). Therefore I suspect the cause of your bearings going was probably due to overloading. Because AEG don't "over-rate" the capacitys their machines take, like some other manufacturers do *cough* Hotpoint/Indesit *cough* in order to use it as a selling point, people, including your chainstore sales staff often mistake its price band as being high specification, like a large drum.

<br/>Personally, used properly I cant fault them, and I'm so confident of their quality I even own one myself!
