worked ok for a few years of very occasional use.then today whilst watching a dvd it suddenly went off with a bang and then a burnt smell.I dont know if its worth repairing or shall I just bin it! (read more)

I bought my Ronin 215 about 5 or 6 years ago. It has served me so well, played 'almost everything' including my holiday photos discs, movies, music, videos of grandchildren - wow what a shock when the motor growled at me last weekend and nothing would play any more....and no surprise, it's been really well used. Good news is - they are still available....yes!!! Don't hesitate to try one for yourself. (read more)

Good value for money. Good features for a cheap machine. Has been reliable for the last 4 years. Neat compact size with good picture quality. No bad points from me which is great for such a cheap machine. (read more)

The Ronin 215 DVD Player is basically the same as the 215f, but with only two channel dolby. It is based on the MT1379 chip. which is widely used by diffrent manufactures. Note all dvd players which use this chip therefore have the same problems

The current firmware allows the region to be changed, but also disables RGB video output on scart resulting in reduced quality of picture and therefore only allowing a composite video output. You can how ever get the firmware down graded to an old... (read more)
