This hotel is definitely not 4 star. It is in need of renovation with dirty tiles, dirty swimming pool and carpets. The corridors are all dark and carpets are awful. All family rooms are on ground floor with no pool view as advertised. Food is poor with same choice every day. We all had bad stomachs for most of the holiday. Local beer is like a laxative as it has a high glycerin content. Animation team were good in the day but their evening performances were awful especially their sketch shows which we didn't understand at all. There is nothing nearby so boredom sets in on an evening. We met some lovely people but that was all we enjoyed about our holiday. Ali the restaurant manager goes out of his way for you and waiters were friendly. Will not return to hotel or Tunisia.

This hotel is a joke, theres nothing nice about it. I will never waste my hard earned money there again. It was all closed, you only find this out when you get there its 1 star not 4 star. Don't pay for a transfer its only 5 minutes from the airport, a cab is only 5dn don't pay any more than that barter them down, thats all they cost.

The pool (brillant size), animation team, the rest of the staff, area, food, the bar (Zanibar). I had to go home after 2 weeks, you build a friendship with the staff in hotel including animation team, the best animation team ever. Overall, I dont think that I could fault anything at the Liberty Hotel, just 10/10 on everything.

We spent one week at this hotel Sept 2007, all inclusive any longer and we may of struggled as there is nothing else to do in the immediate area. The swimming pools are huge and includes one small pool for children. The disco is small and drinks are not included in the all inclusive optoin. Worth a visit for a change.
We traveled to the market in a taxi, this is a little hairy. Haggling is a must....Sometimes the shopkeepers can become aggressive if you do not buy their products. Most of the shops sold the same stuff, mainly leather goods, silver, trainers and sportswear.
The quad biking was great value and great fun as was the camel riding and bread making excursion. Ali baba visits the hotel to sell these and other excursions.
The hotel photographer takes loads of photos of you and your family all around the hotel gardens and pool area. You may choose your favorites or buy the whole cd.
Overall an enjoyable holiday.

Skanes Liberty - Having read comments before I traveled I had mixed feelings about going to Skanes and the Liberty hotel. Overall I'm glad I went ahead with the trip.
First impressions are ok it is only 3 star and after all it is the north Africa so their version of a three star is very different to European standards.
the food was ok its mainly typical French influenced dishes not too much choice but there was always just enough choice to make a meal up. The inclusive drinks are limited but once again it is a cheap holiday so you shouldn't expect the same service as Dominican Rep, Mexico, or Spain.
Skanes has nothing to offer, however, for about £3.00 UKP 5-6 TND (Tunisian Dinars) you can get a taxi to either Monistir or Sousse. Both have very good markets. In Monistir the salesmen are a little more aggressive as it's a smaller town and there are less shoppers.
Overall the hotel and staff were great! Especially the Animation team.
One word of warning! Go to the markets and you will get pestered but you will get great deals on bags and trainers for next to nothing.

Hello everybody.I'm from Czech Republic. I went to Tunisia (Hotel Liberty) 1 year ago. It was so PERFECT COOL, SUPER GREAT there! Go there, and you will be crazy for that place same as me!:o) Believe it! I met so kind people there. Although the sea there was one big catastrophe...I love Tunisia. You will love the pool, programmes in the evening, the food there is good...but the greatest thing you should have is an all inclussive card! There is a Lobby bar and you can take drinks from there whenever..you will have fun with handsome waiters...:o) Nothing all over the world is better than that hotel. Go there.

Skanes Liberty - I very much enjoyed it and if you were to go around New Year they put on a smashing show and slap-up meal!!! I would very much like to go again.
