Found the Resort of Hammamet dirty and boy do the drains need some work. Young tourists reported being offered drugs on the streets at night. Shop and stall keepers rude and hostile if you did not want to buy their over priced tat. Sorry no redeeming features at all. Hotel spacious and quiet located a wee bit away from the center but in walking distance also right on the beach. Staff scarce food and drink very over priced, could do with a bit of TLC. Staff will rip you off so be careful for... (read more)

Have stayed in far better hotels for less than we paid for this one. Rated as 4 or 5 star depending on where you look...1 or 2 is more accurate. I would recommend this hotel to friends, family and people I generally bump in to. I would not stay for more than a week or ten days as there is not a great deal to do once you have seen Hammamet town centre but there are a wide array of tours around Tunisia. (read more)

The Dar Hayet Hotel in Hammamet is a nice looking hotel in an excellent location, and really good value with superb evening meal.

There is no need to take expensive tours as the public transport is frequent, efficient and very cheap, especially the train into Tunis.

Don't be deceived by rooms described as having a 'garden view' - it's a hedge! As soon as you arrive you're asked if you want to upgrade to a sea view room with a balcony (garden view has no balcony). Other people have said... (read more)
