Dining room was like a works canteen the food was terrible and with the smell of the drains it was uneatible as well. The whole hotel are smelt of bad drains, one good point was the rep, he moved us into the Royal after 2 days. The Hammamet Bel Azur was the worst hotel I've ever been to. They will have to clean the drains out and clean dining room get rid of cats. (read more)

My daughter and I went to the Bel Azur last year, and I am returning this year with my partner, because I had such a great time. The weather, food, accomodation and scenery make it a place you will want to return to again and again. I would recommend you take an extension lead and plug adaptor though as they are needed. We are just back from a week at the Bel Azur. It is tired and dated and in need of repair. Our rooms were not clean and they smelt. The bathroom was terrible the bath was badly stained and there were tiles falling off. The food was tasteless and the same every night. The entertainment well thats a different story. We would never return to this hotel. (read more)

We would not return to this hotel. The hotel is rated as a 3 star but it is not clean enough and should be rated more as 2 stars. The hotel desperately requires attention as there rooms are falling apart, tiles falling off the roof etc.etc.
The restaurant was not up to standard either, you have to share a table with other guests and food was always over cooked and cold. Entertainment was bad, and resembled Butlins.

“This was the second time we stayed at the Bel Azur,...”

This was the second time we stayed at the Bel Azur, the staff are universally helpful and friendly and the food is good provided you don't mind that it all has a local twist. The hotel is a bit shabby, I think it's the oldest of the three hotels on the site and it does show. (read more)

There were four of us at the Bel Azur hotel; myself and my husband and two teenagers (girl 19, boy 17). We had a great time. My husband and I loved the beach as it was so clean and peaceful, my daughter loved the pool as there were more young people and the activities were there, my son loved the water sports, food good something for all tastes, rooms clean, maid service great, waiters great we did tip everyone one diner about 40 pence, in the evenings we enjoyed a drink and a hubblepipe,... “I would never go back to the Hammamet Bel Azur again....”

Written on: 09/08/2006 by Komalp (1 review written)

I would never go back to the Hammamet Bel Azur again. We were a party of 13, and what a waste of money for a rubbish holiday. The hotel spoiled it all for us. All the rooms were dirty, and the staff were unfriendly and very unhelpful. (read more)

We have stayed twice at the Bel Azur in Hammamet, and hope to go again. We stay in winter when prices are remarkably low, and we get some winter sun. We are very satisfied with this hotel. It is a very good hotel for oldies, and also for those with some disabilities. They are also good with young children. (read more)

“Will not be going back to the Bel Azur or in fact...”

Will not be going back to the Bel Azur or in fact Tunisia full stop. Do not go during august 15-22 as it becomes swooned upon by neighbouring Algerians and also Tunisians to holiday themselves. I mention this as this meant it became overrun by a lot of youngsters 13-17 with no family with them it seemed. Pool is not my thing but if it was you couldn't see it as again the youngsters made it a youth club. Beach was very nice and a choice of eating on there or on a loftier position meant you... “Hammamet Bel Azur: ”

Written on: 03/08/2004 by ljf1984 (1 review written)

Hammamet Bel Azur:
Our room was nice and clean and we had a balcony and amazing views of the sea. It had an unpleasant smell though. The pool in the Bell Azur is very small and the Hotel let the local people use it, so we didn't go there at all. Luckily we could use the pools of the sister hotels which were really nice and not too crowded.
The bars of the sister hotels were really nice too. We only went to our hotel to eat and sleep. All the staff were polite and friendly. The pool... (read more)
