Good Points: No real good points, a bad experience
Bad Points: Charged again when we had already paid for a room
General comments: We had booked a room at the Merchant Court Hotel through a travel agent and we were delayed on our arrival. The hotel did not honor our booking or payment and we had to pay again, there was no refund and they then tried to make me pay for room service that was never ordered. A very ordinary hotel experience

We stayed in the Merchant Court Hotel for 4 nights in Oct 2004 & were very disappointed. It was advertised in the UK brochures as a 5* hotel which it definitely was not.
Check in was painful to say the least with the staff member being very unhelpful. She would not give us the room upgrade we had booked nor allow us a late check out on our day of departure. We went back to another member of staff the next day who sorted us out immediately with no problem at all.

Excellent family hotel with great facilities. I have now stayed at the Merchant Court twice once with the entire family (2 kids aged 5 and 2) and have an excellent time.
Rooms where not too small even with the four of us in the room. The pool was excellent, the restaurants great.
Close to everything, MRT is right next door and its only a 15 minute wall to the Merloin along the river, 15 minutes to the raffles and 10 minutes to China Town.
