“Bad experience flying on Kuwait Airways”

March 5th I flew on Kuwait airways from JFK to Kochin (India). This was my first experience on this flight. I would never recommend anyone taking this flight. The air crafts are very old. Inflight entertainment never worked. No leg space, Bad customer service. Flight from Kuwait to JFK was delayed over 14 hours with out much explanation. When asked the staff was very rude and they were yelling at the passengers. I promise never in my life i will travel on Kuwait airways. (read more)

My travel was from London to Cochin.The entertainment was not working most of the time.And they were all kind of streaming means you can only watch the ones they are running with their own timing.The people sitting nearby was really rude and misbehaved.From their talks i came to know that they were Kuwait origins.The timing of the airlines was good and on time.The food was better than i expected. Hi, My experience with Kuwait Airways was Average. In terms of service they are good. Also in terms of Food as I being Jain (Asian / Indian Special Meal) it was really good. While travelling from london -Kuwait-Mumbai the flight was on time and on schedule.Few problems I encountered was NO ENTERTAINMENT as aircraft are too old. Kuwait airways is by far the worse airline that I have ever traveled. Following are the items (and their explanation) that I have considered in my review - 1. Heathrow-JFK, five-hour delay (no explanation). Plane was old and shabby and seats were uncomfortable. Nobody's inflight entertainment worked on the whole plane, and we got the impression from the crew that that's normal. Food poor. Flight attendants were good but Kuwaiti officers were rude and disrespectful. They would not allow to use an umbrella stroller while in transition at the Kuwait airport!! I had to carry my 11 month old daughter with 3 carry ons for 3 hrs!!! They would nt let me on the plane because of them I had misplaced my boarding pass. I have done my fair share of international flying,. THIS IS THE WORST AIRLINE SO FAR. I hated my flight so much im literally waiting for my connecting flight and typing this out. Disgusting staff at JFK (RUDE and absolutely unaccomodating), the crowd on the flight is awful (which I could have overlooked if the service was better). The meals on flight are average at most. i flew bangkok to manila.a 3 hour flight took 4.5 hours. my seat was filthy and had remains of the previous flights food on the seat.when i asked for a damp cloth i was looked apon as if i was unwelcome.the staff were very uncaring and very rude to some customers. inflight entertainment was non existant apart from muslim prayers. and to top it all after i came home i found my credit card had been charged twice 8 weeks later and still no refund. please dont ruin your holiday by using this airline (read more)

From Islamabad to Kuwait City, it was a boeing 310. Very nice clean aircraft. Good spacious seats. First I thought I was upgraded to business class. The food was very good. Nice and enjoyable flight. Kuwait city to JFK, it was a B777. Nice clean cabin. Lot of empty seats, so it was very comfortable. There was a stop over in London. That was a nice break. Food was again pretty good. Left LHR late awaiting an incoming flight. Told groundstaff that I would miss my connecting flight they said not their responsibility. Little and poor quality food. No TV at all. Staff seemed depressed that they had to work for this outfit. In JFK no-one at the counter finally found someone who sullenly gave me a voucher for a hotel. Hotel staff said they saw a lot of people from this airline. Avoid at all costs. And no drinks if you must fly bring duty free on board. (read more)

Flew from London - Kuwait - Bangkok - Manila. Worst flight I've ever been on. On the first leg a fight broke out between a group of kuwaitis, most disgusting behaviour I've ever seen not to mention very unsettling. Female cabin crew trying to calm the situation were shoved out the way, very demeaning and rude. Guards met the plane, not the best impression on entering a country for the first time. MY Flight Plan LHR-KWI-MUM and return, The airways is behind to others by atleast 10 years, the craft are really old, the entertainment unit does not work on 80% seats, The Foot rest are broken on many seats, the carperts are torn and worn out.

Good quality onboard service, standard sized seat pitch but if you are lucky to have three seats to yourself then stretch out and sleep flat. Good quality food (I had dinner and breakfast on my LHR bound flight from JFK) Kuwait Airlines is a "dry airline" and offer nothing except from water, soft drinks and tea or coffee. I had a very bad experience with one of your flight attendant by the name of Farah Saidani, a young lady with a very bad attitude and obnoxious behavior.
I was helping an elderly gentleman who had a severe case of Pedal edema on both his feet (Swollen feet) and was unable to move/walk. He needed some assistance. Since he did not speak any English, I decided to assist him by getting him some Ibuprofen and giving up my seat for him to lay down...

I recently flew with Kuwait Airways and after reading the posted reviews i was expecting the worst flight ever! This was not the case at all. The flights were on time and even shorter than listed. The cabin crew were all friendly and the food was ok, apart from the lack of alcohol! The interior was a bit tired but not that bad. I flew LHR to JFK, I made all efforts to paid a cab to get to the airport on time, but on check in I was told the flight is 2 hours behind schedule. I have flown with them a few times, economy from London-Dhaka and back. Although they always seem safe and punctual, there is little else to recommend them. Planes are old, dingy and uncomfortable. Food is basic. Entertainment is poor. Schedules are inconvenient. Alcohol prohibition is irksome. This airline is beyond bad. Departing Kuwait they allowed a woman to hold what appeared to be a 3 or 4 year old child on her lap. In the US a child that large would have been in a seat as the child poses a danger should the aircraft hit turbulance ie the kid can go flying into another passenger.

Because of time constraints, I ended up purchasing an economical ticket with Kuwait Airways from NYC-New Delhi in October 2009. London-Kuwait-Bangkok-Manila in December 2008: I flew with them a year ago and was very happy with the service given. The check-in was simple at London Heathrow. Cabin staff helpful. None of these so called 'in-polite' people. The planes are 'dated' now but they are planning to refurbish them with new leather seats (in all classes) and interiors. I must say I was amazingly suprised & impressed with the quality of the plane, staff were very friendly & helpul & the food was delicious!

I flew out from JFK bound to COK (Cochin, India) the day before Thanksgiving. Got to the check-in counter earlier than usual so the wait in the line became longer than expected. Check-in was smooth. It was while in line that I found out about the attacks going on in India. Despite a bit of anxiety, and expecting security to be on high, it was tolerable.
Boarding for a 9pm flight started at 8pm and it was chaos (as always). The flight ended up being full which meant no room to breathe....

Check-in staff at JFK was efficient and polite (considering their job of dealing with thousands of passengers). Onboard, crew was pleasant as well. Then again, I'm a very low maintenance kind of a guy. I tend not to ask or expect much from cabin crews. Seats are extremely narrow in economy. It's quite difficult to adjust comfortably if you don't know the people in your row. Screens work very randomly. Food taste is quite neutral - mix of spicy and bland. Overall, Kuwait Airways is... I flew on KU to go to Bangladesh to spend the summer. As soon as I arrived there the staff told us we had to wait for four hours. We did, but then after four hours, we had to wait another four hours because the plane wasn't here yet. Overall, I would rate it 2 from a scale to 1-10. Anyway, my trip was JFK-HAR-KU-DAC-KU-JFK. I flew on Kuwait Airways because I didn't have any other airlines available for the dates. So I paid top dollar for my flight out of New York. They treated me very poorly and lost both my luggage. After two weeks, they found one and reimbursed me $40 "for my inconvenience". They have yet to locate the other bag and they have shown nothing but extremely poor customer service. Value for money, Kuwait airways is not bad. If you are willing to let go of the luxuries of the flight and focus on the main goal, which is to get to your destination at the cheapest in the fastest way possible, Kuwait Airways is the way to go.
However, if you want the little luxuries, such as the levels that higher star rated airlines provide, you might want to stay away from this airline, or you'll just end up terribly disappointed and might ruin a good start of the vacation.

Hi, If you would like some advise, I must say that I have not tried Kuwait yet but look at the price it is a bit cheaper than Gulf air maybe around £10! so if you want to use a 50 year old airline with great experience and have a great flight! then fly GULF AIR!

When we boarded the plane we were one of the first passengers to board. There was a woman passenger in the seat in front of us who was clearly unwell and she was wrapped in a blanket, coughing and shivering. A doctor was called to her half way through the flight, and the Head Kuwait Airways crew member argued with her companion that they should not have boarded the plane without seeking medical attention. Plenty of leg room is the only nice thing about Kuwait Airways. The food is of poor quality. Many screens don't show an image, often there is no sound for films or music, when there is it has a lot of noise, seats don't always recline. (read more)

completly agree, I hated my flight so much that I couldn't catch a moment of sleep on board my 25hr journey. Kuwait airport is one of the worst airports to transit and Kuwait airways, is not worth commenting on. One verdict - Don't ever use it, no matter what
