Good Points: Its a head turner, (mine is in glorious black) it seats four normal sized people in some style, its quite fast if you use the revs to the limiter, my grandkids absolutely love the noise that makes....beeeeeeep.
Bad Points: Very hard to drive in snow; tip...switch off the traction control to go places and try avoiding any hills. Bit of a blind spot on rear three-quarter. And because the wheels are at the 4 corners, tight turning at slow speed is challenging...watch out for those high kerbs, they bite the ally wheels.
General comments: Bought my Mazda 192bhp RX8 4 months ago and have done 7000 business and holiday miles in it so far. Averages about 27 mpg and 1/2 litre oil every 1000 miles. Starts up on sunny or winter conditions no problem. No miss-fires, flooding etc. It has not let me down....touch wood. There is a lot said about it being a rotary engine but you would'nt notice....except the oil usage, but isnt it supposed to do that? I ran a few 2 stroke motorbikes as a teenager; so not big deal really; I just treat it like a big bike.

Great looks, fantastic handling, descent performance but wouldn't say mega fast.
Has any one else had this miss firing problem at low revs, if so what did you do about it?- Read 2104paulh's review (57 words)

I've had none of the reported engine flooding in my MAzda RX-8. Oil comsumption is not as bad as I was led to believe - needs about 2 litres every 3,000 miles. Fuel economy is what you expect from a car that revs to 9000! If your concerned about that, buy a family deisel. The spec leather upholstery is a class above for the money, throw in the performance and styling and you have one sexy motor car. If Carling made coupes for 4 then they would make this one! Need I say more.- Read nadalutti's review (248 words)

The Mazda RX8 is a fab car to look at and to drive. Have had mine 6 months with no problems. The aftersales care by Ashley's Mazda in Southport is excellent. They replaced all the alloys due to the slightest show of rust - and noticed two of the tyres were getting low so replaced them for free too! An excellent car so far. It certainly puts a smile on my face!
I'm nervous about the flooding problem as I've not been through a winter with it yet. Can't stand cars that don't start. I thought I left ...- Read Reynolds500's review (225 words)

The Mazda RX-8 5 Speed 192ps is a hoot to drive. Seats four people quite comfortably better than equivalent Audi TT or Porsche Boxter.
Suprisingly smooth power delivery for the size engine and does pack a punch when floored. Needs to be treated with respect, especially in the wet with the traction control off.
Exceptionally good road holding, almost go-kart handling.
Petrol consumption a bit on the high side, but what do you expect from such a superb sports car. On average when driven sens ...- Read RAL's review (279 words)

This Mazda RX-8 5 Speed 192ps is a superb bit of kit. Excellent interior layout, very comfortable. All my work colleagues want to go out in my car at lunch time. Fast, perfectly reliable as long as you don't start it up, then turn the engine off within 2-3 minutes, otherwise the engine will flood and is unrecoverable by a normal person. Mazda will come and sort it out under warranty however (it happened to me once). The boot opening isn't very big, so although the boot is quite large, getting an ...- Read Newt1's review (315 words)

Owned the Mazda RX-8 27 months now and can't wait to get rid of it. The cold starting is shocking and unless the car is fully warmed up before you turn off the ignition, it'll flood and will end up on a low loader going back to Mazda.

I don't regret for a second buying this Mazda RX8. 2004 Velocity Red, Red & Black Leather interior. Its looks are superb, the performance is unbelievable, and although the fuel economy isn't brilliant I still take it to 9000 rpm as often as I can ....... There isn't a faster way to get an inane & stupid grin on my face!
And I bought a sports car, no a family diesel, so fuel economy wasn't a priority ...... It does exactly what it says on the tin!! :-)- Read Nick66's review (96 words)

The Mazda RX-8 is an absolutely fantastic piece of technology. You just can't drive it without having a smile on your face.
The minus points are: Three times returned under warranty (chip mapping and fuel tank recall, and the window visor kept falling down). Fuel economy poor; but hey you didn't buy it for that anyway. Slightly twitch in the wet, and needs a bit of respect.
If you are thinking of getting one then do it - you won't regret it!- Read mobiousstrip's review (101 words)

I ordered my Mazda RX-8 and had to wait about 16 weeks due to a backlog of orders. Was it worth the wait? You bet it was! What a fantastic motor!!
I ordered mine from Drive The Deal over the Internet, and opted for full leather and red mica paint. I got about £1600 off the list price, which, considering the local dealer in Ipswich laughed when I asked for any discount, is a very good deal for an in demand car.
Having previously driven a Lexus IS200, and before that a Vauxhall Cali ...- Read simoneyre's review (449 words)

Does anyone have a tow bar fitted to the Mazda RX8? Does it tow well? As we have a caravan, and we may have to sell the Mazda to buy a pick up, which would break my heart.- Read paul lawrence's review (68 words)

I got my RX8 on the first weekend in March and have enjoyed every minute of driving it since. This car is a real head turner and the wailing note of the rotary engine certainly attracts attention. The Bose stereo that comes standard in the UK is fantastic and I would recomend anyone considering buying one of these to go for the leather seats. The RX8 realy has it where it counts too, the performance, I have the 'low power' version, at 190PS this is still powerful and I can beat most people away ...- Read jamie44's review (124 words)

I don't own a Mazda RX 8 Sports Car but a good friend does. He opted for the 180? BHP version and it goes like stink, he finds keeping tabs on the oil it DRINKS a chore and a few times has exceeded the time it should be checked only to find he fills it back up with more than the 1 litre bottle recommended. He drives relatively quickly and it costs him to do so. With all the technology the cab has to offer there is no mpg indicator! So he calcs it the basic "how much goes how far" way and it does ...- Read escapizm's review (398 words)
