Good Points: looks amazinghandles briliantlyvery fast if ridden well

Bad Points: I brought the bike to my local mechanic to remove the restricter valve. I told him to re jet the carbs but he did a useless job and I went through 3 pistons before I got it working properly again. (3 expensive racing pistons cause original parts don't seem to exist)

General comments: This bike was the love of my life. The most beautiful machine in the world (aside from a real monster). You get respect from everyone, cars, other 2 stroke riders and even the ducati snobs will salute you as you ride past. The Cagiva Planet handles brilliantly, has excellent brakes and suspension, the lights are top notch. It has a nice wide back tyre and the exhaust manages to convert the tinny sound of a 2 stroke into an acceptable warble of something much more powerful.

i just bought this bike and i love it it handles like a dream and goes like a rocket looks like a big bike feels like a big bike can leap from lighs and most other road traffic accllerates well. It hates the cold takes ages to warm up but then again it is still after all a two stroke.
id say the Cagiva Planet is a great first bike if you feel confident if not something a bit smaller may be in order but id buy and keep most certainly.

I have had a 1999 Cagiva Planet for the last 14 months, in that time due to the last owner not looking after her too well, I have had to spend a lot of time tweaking, and replacing (clutch, sprockets, chain and exhaust).
Now with a race can, race plug and soon race carb reeds, I'll be the blur in the distance!
I love this bike, I should have got one sooner... she flies!

THe Cagiva Planet handles like a much bigger bike, it feels like a bigger bike, and is the perfect bike to start on. I had three bikes before the planet, just to get about, but this was the machine that made me fall in love with riding! I now have a 919cc hornet (and have ridden a range of other big bikes). Although I have not had a Cagiva planet for quite some time, I still have fond memories, of that brilliant little bike. For me that was where my obsession all began.

I have a 2001 Cagiva Planet. I don't know if they made some slight improvements that year but it runs smooth as silk. I'm keeping it 'till my cold dead hands are pealed from the grips (and with the speed it goes, that may be sooner than I think). I LOVE MY BIKE!

The Cagiva Planet is a great little bike I had a 94 model mito it was best handling, fastest, best looking 125 I've had or seen for that matter.
Only thing I was worried about the engine going pop but it never did till the day I sold it, a guy who bought it seized it up on his way home.

I bought this bike 2nd hand in Belgium (I live here) for about 1600 ' . We needed to replace the piston rings (cegments?), I also removed the basic restriction in the exhaust.
After this I tested my bike's speed, I was in 5th gear at 140km/h and he had many more to go further in 6th, so for me personal it's an awsome 125cc bike.
Also very good brakes and good movement with the bike. good in corners and enough power for driving in the city.
Good bike to start with, not to expensive, still enough ...

The Cagiva Planet is fast and handles very well and it looks cool. Everyone say's it looks like a big bike. It has great breaks and is easy to pull a stoppy. Wheelies are a bit harder but the Planet does them and does burnouts too. Its very easy to ride and filter through traffic and my top speed was 155kph (about 95mph). All in all... probably the best 125 out there but does not like the cold very much.

The Cagiva Planet is not really a great bike at all. some parts are good and some parts are really quite bad. The looks of the bike are good.

Just recentley bought a 2001 Cagiva Planet and all I want to do is be on it. It has been de-restricted and has the power valve kit. I have done 90mph and was only in 5th with plenty more to go and another gear aswell, and it got there rapidly! This bike handles very well and due to its quick acceleration and size, it makes you feel a bit more confident on the road unlike some of the smaller 125's like the honda cg etc, that make you feel a bit vunerable from the larger road users. I would defina ...

I'm 27, 6'2 and 16 stone and the Cagiva Planet has been great fun to ride. Just teaching myself the ropes before buying a bigger bike and found this the best bike for the money. Fast and fun. If only I could have the bike bike noise, but nevermind, its still the best 2 stroker I've ridden and does not dissappoint. Derestricted mine will do speeds that I find quick enough. Ignore the rubbish that people say about doing 110mph, its pure rubbish. Anyway, 70mph is fast enough for me and its how quic ...

I bought a Cagiva Planet on looks alone, it looks like a Ducatti Monster, and appeared to be everything I wanted. After 6 weeks of use (about 300 miles) I had to sell it, every time I used the bike something else broke, it was terrible, the one I had which I think was a bit of a lemon had an Arrow exhaust, it made the bike sound like it was going fast but it just wasn't and couldn't, really embarrassing. My 2000 W reg bike had a seized power valve that even after buying the new ECU still wouldn' ...

The Cagiva Planet to me, is the ultimate 125 bike. In the year I had it, I did over 10,000 miles on it, commuting and at weekends, pleasure riding. A group of friends and I used to go haring around the Essex countryside, they had machines like Mito`s 94 GSXR1100, Rieju 125 and RS 125`s. Due to the Planets excellent handling, on the twisties I was usually in front, my friend on his Mito went through a hedge one time trying to keep up! Find a decent one and hold onto it, they are excellent and ver ...
