I bought my first pair of GHDs back in 2008, they were my first pair of straighteners that actually belonged to me. I chose GHDs as my sister had them and they were amazing. I bought mine from Amazon.co.uk, an offical retailer of GHD and they are completely authentic. I have now had my GHDs for 5 years, I've straightened my hair nearly every day for the entire 5 years and they still work as well as the day I bought them. They make my hair extremely straight, they also bring out the shine. I... (read more)

I'm onto my 6th pair now - 1st pair - stopped working within 1 year 2nd pair (wide plate straighteners) - stopped working within 18 months 3rd Pair - bought to replace the 2nd pair - stopped working within 6 months. I finally got smart and contacted the company to enquire about warranties. They told me to send them back to them for inspection. 4th pair - Within a week (after sending 3rd pair to ghd), they sent me a new pair (Oct 2012). I purchased two flat irons ranging in prices from $185-$230+ and both stopped working soon after the manufacturer warranty expired! I called customer service each time explaining how they stopped working and I no longer have my receipts, so would provide them with the date codes, which mean absolutely nothing to them, and was told they cannot replace the defective stylers at all. Gee what a coincidence they stopped working after the warranties expired! Honestly, other flat irons work much... (read more)

I had my first GHD straighteners for over 4 years and they were wonderful. When they eventually stopped working, I automatically went out and bought a new set. What a disaster. I bought a pair of limited edition white GHDs about 3 years ago while living in the UK. I use them max once a month. I went to use them the other day, turned them on and noticed a funny smell. I’ve had GHD's for over 10 years (4 pairs all together) and previously loved them, but my last pair just weren't the same as my originals but when these recently broke I decided to give GHD's a final go thinking their technology would be much better. So recently bought my 4th pair and they were awful. They are now very cheaply made compared to previous models and they just do not straighten your hair well. My first pair of GHDs lasted 7 years but my Mk4 replacement is now currently away for repair although only purchased at the end of August 2009. hear hear! my husband bought me a new set of GHD scarlets for xmas 2011, they caused me so much pain with snagging i dreaded using them every day, every morning i left the house with an awful headache after using them, i was very dissapointed that in feb this year i returned them back to GHD and within a few days i received a brand new replacement set, now (april) i am once again experiencing the same problem and have been for a few weeks.... this morning i had to give in and ive had to dig out my old gold classic GHD's and the difference in there performance is extremely noticeable plus no snagging and no pain or headaches what so ever! i have once again contacted GHD direct, im not after a straight swap (scarlets for scarlets) im wanting them to exchange my scarlets for the older gold classic pair (no dought at my own cost because the scarlets are far more expensive) but im willing to see if a newer set of gold classics perform as good as my old set, failing this i will be taking it further, its upset my husband because he believed he was paying out all that money because he was buying me the best!

Everybody says they're perfect but it's not true!
I don't think it worth the price. The quality is not so great and they don't offer anything with the straightener, like a bag for example.
It's too expensive and I found a better company of hair straightner, which quality is much better and price a bit lower.
