Good Points: pick up
Bad Points: belts
General comments: The Panasonic MCE 4003 does pike up well but I am fed up of the belts that keep going, breaking of the belts is a very costly because you have to put a new one on every week, so I would tell people not to buy

I'd had this for about 6 years during which time I'd used it whilst "doing up" 2 houses and had been (admittedly stupidly) using it for such things as hoovering up brick dust and smaller pieces of rubble, the whole time it was great and I only ever needed to clean and not replace the filters. And then it started shredding fan belts, it wasn't too bad to start off with, 3 months, then 2 months then 1 month, it was lasting about 10 minutes when I threw it away and got a new hoover. I bought the EC 4111 which is in the same mold. I found the hose for hoovering the stairs absolute rubbish with only a brush attachment supplied and the hose uselessly too short and difficult to hold. The drive belt has come off every time I used it lately and have since taken it back to Argos who exchanged it for any other make and model I wanted, of course paying the difference if applicable.- Read ianwoody's review (94 words)

Panasonic MCE 4003: We are on our second machine, the first was replaced under warranty as it kept tripping the thermal cutout. This second one always runs hot though doesn't trip the cutout. We are always having to clean the filters on a weekly basis. The rotary brush traps hairs between its ends and the metal plates, generating enough heat to melt and burn/char the plastic end of the roller producing a terrible smell. It has now decided to shred one of the drive belts. The exhaust is badly dir ...- Read docmike's review (151 words)

We are now on our second machine, and both suffer the same problem. The main drive belt comes off after a couple of uses.
The shop we purchased it from and Panasonic say there is no problem!
I would suggest strongly that you steer clear from these machines!
Certainly would not recommend them!!!- Read MJC's review (60 words and 4 comments)
