I was happy with Scottish Power as my energy provider until last November when I changed to a company offering a better deal at the time. It has taken 10 months and my final bill from Scottish Power has still not been settled. They were very quick to take money from my account having provided me with an inflated estimated bill, but ever since I tried to correct the reading and claim back the overpayment they have gone quiet! I signed up to Sainsburys dual fuel capped deal in 2006 and was pleasantly surprised with the service and fairly cheap bills.
In 2008 Scottish Power seemed to take over the supply/service and from that point it has been nothing but pain and an irritant for me.
Bills steadily increased to now ridiculous amounts. In my experience, Customer Service advisors have a habit of putting me on hold when I ask deep and meaningful questions and then either seem to cut me off or re-route me to somewhere... (read more)

I bought a wide screen Sony 100Hz TV from Scottish Power and paid over £150 for a 5 year warranty. I too had the money back after 5 years offer sold to me and at no point was I told it would be with a different company that has now gone bust. I bought the TV from Scottish Power because I thought they were a company you could trust. (read more)
