Good Points: Stunning musicianship, Madder than a mad person, who's feeling particularly mad. You'll either be utterly blown away...
Bad Points: ...Or you'll want to throw up in disgust and loathing.
General comments: Totally original, totally heavy. Incredibly complex song structures and rythyms. Drummer Chris Pennie apparently also plays drums for the national jazz band of the U.S.A, and it shows. The most amazingly complex drumming i've ever heard. But the skillful musicianship doesn't stop there. All the members of the band are superior artists in their chosen instruments, creating bizarre jazz signatures with crushingly heavy riffing. You may have picked up that i'm stunned by this album, but it's not 'new album syndrome' where people rave about albums they've just bought, just to have them gathering dust 6 months later! I've had this album for over 2 years and it still has me under it's spell. Open your mind and nothing will ever be the same. Listen with a closed perspective and you'll be thinking "What's all the fuss about?" or worse. Listen to it. All of it. Just listen........
