Used to using an upright, but was considering a cyclinder until now! Its good points are .. Power, compact, and smart looking, easy bag change.
Poor points are... wheeling resistence whilst vacuuming, poor tool fitting technique, hose short for stairs, blows lots of very hot smelly air! (especially when bag part full with cat and dog hair - as its supposed to be!) a hassle! carpet attachment gets stuck pushing against carpet.

Owned a Dyson DC04 for 8 years, which has gone up in smoke, currently borrowing from friends until settle on a good replacement (not another Dyson!). Tools/hose continually break, heavy, and short life expectancy!

Latest one to trial was the Miele Cat & Dog 2200w ... struggle to interchange tools, not slick or pleasant atall.

    quite hard to pull around.

the carpet tool gets 'stuck' trying to push against my carpet. The 'mini-turbo' tool, as its only spins on suction, loses power very quickly and edges need doing separately.

Miele Cat and Dog 700 is powerful, but so are a lot of hoovers, and therefore the finished result is good, but was a real faff, swopping between floorings/tools, and doing stairs.. got 3/4 up the stairs and the hose won't reach further so the vacuum has to 'hang' from the hose as its dragged up the bottom stairs.

I bought this vacuum cleaner as a replacement for my 25 year old Nilfisk, which incidently still works well, but was very disappointed in my purchase.

The cleaner is very, very hard to push on carpeted flooring, one of the brushes rattles so much I cannot use it, and even when the bag has just been replaced, when it is on full suction, it shows the bag is half full. Also these bags are efficient, but very expensive.

I contacted Miele about these problems and basically they didn't want to know ...

Brilliant piece of kit. My first Miele Cat and Dog 700 lasted me 10 years and only just broke down recently. The turbo head is awesome and pick up is effortless. Highly recommend

Miele Cat and Dog 700 is an excellent hoover. The extra attachments for vacuuming cat/dog hairs is really effective, but importantly the other attachments are also great and suction so far has not been a problem at all.Its light enough to use on the stairs and sturdy enough to bash around a bit without it breaking!

The Miele Cat and Dog 700 is a fantastic at picking up dog hairs that have wound themselves into the carpet and taking way the doggy smell. I have had my Cat and Dog for eight years and it is still going strong.

Love the Miele Cat and Dog 700 Cleaner. Really good suction. Lots of tools, on board tool storage. Sturdy and easy to Use. Never fancied a cylinder cleaner because of bending but this ones' great, you dont have to bend at all, it has a height adjustable handle and the cleaning head glides easily around and underneath your furniture which I don't get with my Dyson. Great for under the beds.

We are about to buy our second miele cat and dog cleaner. The first one lasted well through an extension and lots of cleaning up of brick, concrete and general builders mess!

The Miele Cat and Dog 700 is the best vacuum cleaner I've ever had. 6 levels of power; on-board, easy-to-use tools; choice of 3 heads (incl'); quiet; easy to change bags / filters,
runs smoothly over the floor & is easy to pull after you. I recommend it

I've had my Miele Cat and Dog 700 for five years. I'm no domestic goddess but it has reliably picked up black cat hair from beige carpets, along with cat litter, dried muddy paw prints and general household grot from carpets and hard floors for all this time. It also picked up persian cat hair from my mum's carpet better than her Dyson. I've found the attachments easy to use. There is less "suck" as the bag fills but this is no worse than any other bagged cleaner I've used.

One gets the feeling that all the users that are rating this Miele Cat and Dog 700 highly, perhaps haven't probably used a decent vacuum cleaner before. It was about the worse vacuum I have ever used. I am going to dump it!

I've tried many different vacuum cleaners over the years, as has my mum and I've found personally none of them really picked up the hair, especially without the effort like the Miele Cat n Dog. I also find it really easy to use, all the pipes and fittings come apart easily and it glides round lightly behind me. I can actually say I finally enjoy vacuuming!

When you have four dogs bags on this Miele Cat and Dog 700 fill up in a few days! Bags are expensive to replace. Attachments hard to remove. Attachment flap always opening when touched slightly. Pipe and hose a nightmare keep twisting then flips the vacuum over on its back. On off switch needs pushing a couple of times before coming on. Sorry Miele lovers I am going back to an upright Dyson. P.S one Miele looking for a good home six months old buyer collects, Sorry it just wasn't the right vacuu ...

Works very well but tends to loose power as it fills, all this aside I think I would still by another if the hose fitting has been changed?

If you've had same cat hair problems as me then it's simple - buy it. I looked at various reports including Which and this comes out best for picking up hairs.

The best vacuum I have ever used by far. It is powerful, easy to change the bags and has enough tools for all of the tasks I need a cleaner for. Basically, it works!
Having said all of that, it is still an awkward tool when not being used. Where does the handle go when you stop cleaning for a minute?

Miele have really compromised quality build on this new model. The tools lid is incredibly flimsy, and if the tools are not replaced exactly in their slots, it won't close and could easily break the hinges. My old Black Diamond model was much sturdier and heavier plastic. This notwithstanding, the actual unit is good, and it is powerful, but it does lose suction when the bag fills.

Having been a Mei fan for years I decided to go with the Miele Cat & Dog 700 vacuum cleaner, but I think Miele n ...
