Good Points: Sony brand name. Plays DVD's and Video's. Easy to use, easy timer, lots of outputs, 6 head hi-fi VCR and multi format DVD player.

Bad Points: The video player quality in VERY bad and the DVD player isn't very good at all!

General comments: PART 1: VCR: Sony has been known for producing VCR's of a very high standard of quality but this one is a major let down! My AUST$140 VERY CHEAP VCR that I bought from the local supermarket is much, much better than this Sony! I bought it thinking I was treating my self to something of the highest quality and it solemnly turned in to a major dissapointment and waste of money for me. The picture is VERY grainy and the sound is very poor! and NO it's not the cords or the TV it is entirely the system itself. PART 2: DVD: 1: Menu's load very slowly. 2: When playing burnt DVD's it pauses for a brief period once every 10 seconds. 3: The picture is nothing special 4: The slightest mark/scratch on the disk will cause the disk to skip constantly therefore ruining your viewing experience even more! This product is still on the market in Australia, Advice to Australian peoples, give this one a miss if you know what's good for your eyes and stress levels!

The Sony SLVD950GS is a great looking DVD/VCR Combi that does not dissapoint. Very easy to use and very good value for money. Has the neatest screen saver i've ever seen and so many outstanding and very clever features. You can watch a DVD and record on the VCR at the same time. You can stop play back of the DVD and the machine remembers exactly where you left off. It even sets it's own clock and TV channels.

shops, I came across the Sony SLV D900. My main problem was the lack of space that I had with the TV cabinet, it had to house a new DVD Player, VCR and the Digital TV Box......
