    Good Points: Friendly staff, always willing to help. Great for kids. Excellent beach, sunbeds aplenty, good restaurants, lively night life (in town) if that's your thing. GREAT FOR DIVING/Snorkelling.


    Bad Points: Food catered to continental tastes. If you want a fry up every morning and bitter in the evening don't go here. Stay in UK. Entertainment catered to continentals.


    General comments: Having literally just returned from the Sunrise Palacio I feel the comments made previously by others are unfounded. There are a few minor problem with the area of the hotel (Hurghada will be nice when it's finished) with construction going on, but this is well away from the main hotel building and does not affect the surroundings. The staff at the hotel were only too pleased to assist and help in any way, if you asked. The food was varied although it did cater mainly to the continental types (Germans); remember this is a new resort not used to Brits (although through our historic links they love us). The rooms were adequate (remembering that you only sleep there) and the bathrooms were very good (lashings of hot water) although this was not used much as the temp was never below 28/29C so cold showers were the order of the day. The evening entertainment was fine if you understand German. Kids were well looked after. The hotel doctor was quite good (needed a quick visit for jippy tummy). The facilities are quite good although it would be nice to see a cash point in the hotel lobby. There is a bank which will exchange eurochecks or exchange euros but you cannot get money out on visa or switch type cards, you need to go down town to a cash point.

    Everything about Hurghada Sunrise Palacio hotel was great; Staff start cleaning at 1.00am and don't stop all day. The Hotel was spotless. We visited in May 04, and have already booked up to go back next year as we enjoyed it so much. The surroundings were excellent. Great resort, value for money fantastic. Should be rated as 6* not 5*. All inclusive buffet was amazing.
    There were lots of Russians, Germans, English, but not a lot of Scots.

    After just 2 years of operation the Hurghada Sunrise Palacio is filthy and badly maintained. Most of the day there is no warm water. The air conditioning does not work. For the self-serve buffet one has to line up for 15 minutes. There are not enough sunbeds. And so on......
