i have owned my T2 for five years now only had to change the water pump.
i lived in the north west of Western Australia and was out in some tough conditions, crossing creeks and some very tough terrain no problems. even had to pull out some rodeo's and landcruisers from some sticky spots that the Terrano just cruised through no problems. great 4x4

Best value of all 4x4's. Great fun without the high cost and problems that Land Rover have.
I prefer the looks of the Terrano to most others. If price wasn't an issue,I would buy a Landcruiser Amazon, but even second hand, they are over priced.

Overall, the Terrano is the best buy and the 2.7 diesel engine which was used in the TX1 taxi will run forever.

I don't think The Terrano II is as wollowy as most 4x4"s on tight bend, very easy to control, and 0 to 60 isn't bad.quite good performance,125 bhp.and the vehicle is quite light so good pace.towing is a doddle.only fault I can find is that you can only drive up to 30 in 4 wheel drive and when you stop to put it in four wheel drive you have to reverse 6 feet for diff to disengage or your hub bearings break,All in all very good practical Jeep.

Enjoy driving the Terrano but feel that the ride could be smoother. Even for a 4x4.

Maverick was a good all rounder and have just purchased 05 plate terreno due to the good use from the Maverick. I have run a Ford Maverick with the Nissan engine R Reg and travelled to France on many occasions and towed a caravan for quite a few hundred miles bought second hand with 125,000 miles.

All round great cars until things start to go wrong, I must have got a bad one because my previous experience with Nissan reliability has been second to none. I am quite a patient person when it comes to cars going wrong but I can see myself donating this one to Top Gear see if it will last as long as the Toyota they tried to destroy.

Good all round vehicle reasonable comfort travel from Hastings to Ireland regulary. Fuel comsumption OK. Serviced at every 3000 miles. Makes me smile every time I drive it.
Used every day, has done 12000miles, gearbox now a bit noisy and heater has just blown,by-passed as cost is more than vehicle worth.

Well well well using mine for 200 000 km within 3 years travelling in Africa, DRCongo, Angola, Mozambique,Tanzania, Malawi, South Africa, Namibia, Zambia it is a very strong "THING" and up to today it is still going stronger - Just look after it and it will give you miles of pleasure at a real cheap cost.

The car is perfect for long distance travelling with the family. the turbo should pushed for more horse power and the torque. Otherways the car is perfect overall.

The turbo charger on my Nissan Terrano was changed twice, injector serviced, but no luck to date. Has anyone has anyone got any idea of what could be wrong with this vehicle?

Good all- round off roader with a bit of class. Go for the 2.7 TDI SE+ (higher spec). 3.0 litre engine too expensive to run.
The Terrano 2 is apparently not as fashionable as some others on the market but for me that is part of the reason I bought one! You get a great vehicle for an affordable price.

I got an end of life model (L reg) LWB 7 seater to see if it was suitable. Although general driving was good, the problem is you are not sure what damage has been done by previous owners. Parts are expensive and it is often a specialist garage that is needed to replace parts. Having replaced practically everything on it, I have now down graded because of running costs. So if buying one, buy from new or nearly new and don't fall for the 'these will run for ages!' line.

My wife and I bought a used Terrano to replace our 3 door Rav 4 and we are very pleased with it. It has plenty of room for shopping and stuff which was the draw back with the rav and it is very reliable, never having let us down. I find it comfortable on long journeys but my wife ( who has had surgury on her spine) has to turn the lumber support off.
It is easy to drive, my wife who is only 5 foot drives it almost daily with no problems.

The Terrano II Touring is a strong car, drives well and gives me good mpg. However 3 New speedos from Nissan, 1st speedo LCD display failed.2nd speedo 4.6 mph out,3rd speedo 5.8 mph out.
Nissan do not see this to be a problem & most speedos give different readings,They told me if I had it altered in any way the speedo warranty would be void, (wish I never had the 3rd speedo changed) Apart from this the vehicle is perfect for me,so I can live with this minor problem.

We have had a Terrano 2 commercial at work for 4 years now, which gets used for a mixture of motorway, towing and remote access use. Overall I think it a good performer. The speedo is a mile out but at a true 70 - 72 mph we get 375 to 400 miles to the tankful which is 30mpg. Drives like a car and cruises well. Original Pirelli Scorpions lasted 40,000 miles and we now run Coopers. Present mileage 60,000 miles. The clutch went about a year ago and the subsequent clutch only lasted 10,000 miles, al ...
