had my DB 4 custom for 12 months. was good out of the box, bought this as an experiment, a few teething problems over the coming months, this gun is good value if you just want to dip your toe in the hobby or backyard target shooting, as i say, this was bought as a cheap tuning experiment. 12 months on the rifle is very good, accurate and reliable, ....but at a cost, ...which with hindsight could have been spent on a rifle of better quality even a second hand one. dont get me wrong, it has… Read Full Review

Hello there I've noticed on this site quite a few people have gotten this rifle remarkably cheap much cheaper infact than I've found it. So who's gonna be a chap and tell me where I can pick one of these up cheap? As by these reviews I don't think the 70quid price tag is really worth it… Read Full Review

Like a pair of trainers to a teenager your gonna get the mick taken wearing a £5 pair from a charity shop but they dont slow you down or stop you running. I recently bought the db4 as a project and to see just how bad they realy are. Out of the box the look a little flimsy but for £45 i wasnt expecting much else. Popped in a cheapo .22 pellet and popped it off aiming at a bean can approx 25m away first shot and a hit, think it was shear luck as the next 3 were a miss! Anyway the first hit… Read Full Review

I recently purchased the Standard version of this gun having read numerous reviews and opinions. I have no great experience of good quality guns so this review is taken from the eyes of a novice.
I am pestered by pigeons in my small back garden and have had enough of their guano on my garden furniture and that repetitive cooing.
I did not want to pay much money and just over £40 seemed cheap, but various reviews made me feel that it would either be the best £40 per value or would make a nice… Read Full Review

This is my 2nd review. Ive now put a Hawke Sport HD 4 x 32 scope on and at first it is a little fiddly to load but soon get used to it. Ive bagged plenty of bunnies now at over 30 yrds using 10 grain zinc pellets. i even popped the eye out of one with a head shot at 28 yrds. Only problem is if something breaks it may be more than the gun is worth to have it repaired???? I dunno, we,ll have to wait and see won,t we… Read Full Review

SMK DB4 177
I had the choice of two types of SMK in the gun shop. A cheaper version at £40 or the Deluxe one with a better wooden grained butt for £60. I went for the £60 one. Was sold some pointed slugs and targets.
Found the gun on initial firing very powerful and it went clean through a slatted fence panel at 20yards. I bought the gun for pigeon shooting.First shot at one sitting on a branch at about 12 yrds hit him ok,he flew off to another branch 8yrds away and then just dropped to the… Read Full Review

Pro's: Price, weight, powerful, accurate, custom hardwood stock looks great.
Cons: Stiff trigger.
I just bought a custom db4 for £69. I have found it to be a great weapon for the price. After accidentally putting a pellet through my garage door(1/4 inch hardwood) i soon realized the power available. The stiff trigger isn't a problem after a while. I would certainly recommend to beginners and professionals alike. I haven't put a scope on yet but i can see it may be a problem to load with… Read Full Review

got 2 SMK SMK Deluxe DB4 Underlever from a car boot for a fiver. striped them blued them got rust out of barrel. and striped wood and hamerited it black. well got 10.9 on power reading after i replaced that little gasket on the air output . so it made a snug fit .used rubber and glued it around the air out. the other thing i do which helps is to polish smooth where pellet goes and air chamber out put. as with any air movement all surfaces perform better when smooth . as like motorbike exsaust… Read Full Review

I've had this SMK SMK Deluxe DB4 Underlever air rifle for over a year now, and have put about 500 pellets through it. I have put a decent scope on it, which prevents me easily putting a pellet in. i have sighted it as best i can, but it still shoots low. it is constant, but it is always about 3 inches below where i aim, no matter whether the target is at 10 yards or 40 yards. the trigger is incredibly stiff, and is far away. recently, the gun has started to fall apart. when out shooting, bits… Read Full Review

The SMK SMK Deluxe DB4 Underlever is simply an excellent gun for the money. I paid £36.00 brand new, and for that price, if it breaks I will use it to throw at the rats. Cant fault mine, well worth the money. Good value for money, powerfull, accurate. <… Read Full Review

I have only just got into the sport and will be joining a local gun club soon, i brought this gun after reading the reviews on this web site and testing a few that friends had.
I have rated this gun a 10 on a "under £100 gun group" due to firing a couple of guns and found this one to be the best. The only problem that i had was when i first brought it, was i had to put about 350 - 400 pellets through it before the accuracy was spot on to within an inch.
The stock was easy to remove, so you… Read Full Review
