this is an amazing bike i have brought it new and it doesnt have anything wrong with it and i have been riding it for months. Everyone says that the electric start doesnt work but you need to make sure that you have hold of one of the brakes as it tells the bike that it is about to be started. if you still have any problems send another review and then i will tell u what i know

the yamaha jog is a brilliant scooter, a good work horse i must say! since brand new it has never let me down, had it de restricted 2 years ago and it flies, currently done 21,000 miles and still has loads of life in it. the only problem ive had was that it ate through spark plugs (which was down to the amount of milage it did all year round. otherwise i would recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable scooter for long journeys. Im going to keep mine for life!!!

Have bought a Yamaha Jog R CS50 (air cooled) 2007 build in 2008... have around 7000 km on it. I use it mainly to commute to work in heavy traffic.

    The good:

    - Good starter bike
    - Great accelerator
    - Reliable
    - Light, good in corners, small very good in traffic jams

    The bad:

    - Very low top speed (restricted around 45 kph, de-restricted with an Aerox Exhaust and Pollini rollers + sports spring in variator + carb re-jetted + tires changed to all year tires -> 65 kph on flat and 70 kph downhill ...

The Yamaha Jog R is a great bike to ride around; so light it makes cornering easy, good economy and top acceleration. The bad points are basically the speed. with the standard exhaust i could only do 30mph (fair enough) i got it de-restricted by having the washer took out the variator and no difference. Bought a Technigas sports exhaust with rollers and still only does 30-35mph...Not the most reliable bike ever either, had the throttle lead snap on me and the starter motor break. Overall, not a ...

Where do I start, spent a fortune on it, the whole thing had to be pulled apart to be de-restricted and still cant get over 35. It does 5mph up hills and pulls away at junctions painfully slow. Had mine from brand new 2 years ago and it wont be long until it goes to moped heaven. Never ever will I buy or recomend a Yamaha Jog.

I bought a 1994 jog, with 2250 km on clock, at an auction for $600 CDN or $735 by the time I got out of there. It had been dropped once, with some minor damage and my guess is that it was parked from then on. I weigh 284 lb and so I am way too big for this bike. I have bought a shock extension to stop it from bottoming out.. Even with my weight the bike keeps up with traffic and on the flat gets up to at least 70 kph. It's hard to tell because the speedo only goes up to 60.
    Overall, I'm quite pl ...

If you want a fast ped then dont get a jog because they are not good to tune. They are good on acceleration with light rollers but other peds will catch up. I can probably get 55 out of mine downhill but uphill it only goes 30.

Got an 02 reg MBK Mach G/Yamaha Jog R about 2 months ago from somebody in Cambridge, started as a Golden Yellow color which I did not really like. Takes some cash to add some nice features like sports exhaust, multivar, metal floor boarding etc etc not as nice looking as yamaha aerox or peugeot speed fighter, small fuel tank.

I have got this bike for my birthday and I think that it is really good, mine is not de- restricted and can easily out - accelerate my mates 125 pit bike, I think it is an excellent learner bike as mine can go up to 38 - 40 mph de- restricted, but that could be just mine, also the bike looks nice.

I have a yamaha Jog R 2007 and got it derestricted after 700 miles, it can easily beat any of my friends mopeds (Speedfights, Aerox...) and is the fastest accelerator out of them all. Looking into getting a sports exhaust to boost the speed even more so that I can keep up with the geared bikes. Overall one of the best mopeds I've ridden!

I like this bike a lot but if you want to go above 35mph your better getting something else. I've blown 1 engine and damaged another by pushing the first one to 50mph and the 2nd to 40mph this engine I have im keeping at 35mph and I recommened you do the same unless like my brother you got the lc version.

In my oppinion the Yamaha Jog is amazing. I have mine, fully restricted with an enddy sports exaust fitted on it and it does 40 mph on the flat easy 45 down hill. Great little ped. Picked mine up secound hand for 500 quid few little scratches but once there toped up it will be good as new. Great ped!
