i am the proud owner of a yamaha aerox 100cc motorcyclescooter
it never lets me down it is a cheap and more fun alternative for public transport for the first 2 months it was perfect then i dident like the fact that the previous owner ruined the bodywork bij falling it was scratched and crack so after some saving i repalised it for a new body kit.
From dmp replacement parts it is now jaguar green instead of bleu then the standard gold rims ware out of context from the bodykit so had the cleaned and powdercoated black removed the standard underseat and replaced it with one from bcd optic styling and removed the standard center stand for the optional yamaha side stand the original headlight dident sufice enough light for road with no lampposts so replaced it for one by str8 optik tuning also bougt the str8 rear light for the integrated turn signals becaus the previous owner removed them from the yamaha thats it for now more reviews wil come soon

Have travelled 9000km and so far only problem has been a dead battery. Performance and handling very good.Headlight is terrible. My aerox had stitching fault in the seat and a missed weld on the rear sub frame. These defects were fixed by the Yamaha dealer, however I feel this is a sign of sloppy manufacturing.

I owned many heavy bikes before but for London i have never had such a fun as having Yamaha Aerox 100 ! Believe me or not but Acceleration (5g rollers) is just stunning! I blow other scooters away and most of heavy bikes as well!
Steering is great! It slips between cars like a wasp. I've managed to shorten my time of getting to work to 19mins instead of 25 by my previous Yamaha YZF600!
And it's so cheap takes 2.5 litres to 100km! One bottle of oil per two--three months.
It's the best bike i have ever owned!

I would advise anybody looking for a scooter to buy one of these Yamaha Aerox 100, Starts first time every time wether or not its cold raining or even snowing, it also is a quick bike for a 50cc moped. Ive had mine 6 months and had very little problems with it and thats a 05 model with 15000 miles yes miles not KPH. It also has a nice top speed of 60MPH and nippy take of as its has 4.2g race rollers and proforance exhaust. Wouldnt get a 70cc kit though as there not as good.

Overall a very well built bike, which is nice to look at, have had no problems with the engine whatsoever, and is a 2001 model and still running smooth, would refer anyone to get one.

I have had my Yamaha Aerox for 6 months and love it to pieces. My big bike hardly comes out of the garage any more. It starts first time every time, has been very reliable and is fast and zippy enough to be fun and safe in normal city streets. The brakes lack feedback, although they work well enough. The handling is good. The headlight is very poor, and I agree with some other reviewers that a sidestand would be a good addition. Overall, I think the aerox is a great scooter, and would recommend it to anyone.

It's the best bike I've ever owned and that includes gsxr's etc! It starts everytime everyday, it gets ridden flat out and allways comes back for more. Maintainence is minimal and it's so cheap to run! People see me on it and think I'm only young when I'm actually double that!

I purchased the MBK Nitro 100 which is almost the same as the Yamaha Aerox 100. I needed to get to work and back but at 17 hadn't passed my driving test and properly wouldn't for 4-6months, a solution was needed. And a solution was a scooter it meant I didn't need to get on a bus and could have a bit of independence, but I'm cheap and so went on eBay looking for a bargain, found a 05 MBK nitro and after inspecting it first my bid won it for a bargain price.
My first impressions were good, it was mechanically sound and looked good. The seat is higher than other scooters and feel in a more natural position when on the move with the added bonus that it has good under seat storage for a helmet and gloves. I wouldn't want to be a pillion passenger on it as you would sit over the fuel filler cap. I did my CBT at night (seriously) and found that peoples moaned about the headlights being poor were mis-founded although I do think the mirrors are a little small. With Brembo brakes and Paloli suspension my ride to work along some lovely country roads makes Mondays seem nicer, the buzzy little 2-stroke engine makes you feel like your going faster than you really are and doesn't sound to bad. At least the engine is fixed to a scooter which is meant to sound like a buzzing bee and not a sports bike with a 2-stroke engine which makes it's rider look a bit of a prat. It's a good look riding a Triumph Daytona with a beefy 675 engine note but note a buzzy 125cc Aprilia RS.
The woes about it not starting are misfounded I've found, it didn't start without a fight after I'd left it for a week but starting day to everyother day it works fine, but I do always warm it up a little before going off which can get a bit irritating, coming out of collage after only an hour standing in the rain I had to let it warm up so it wouldn't stall which has not become a habit. For the ultimate in style then a manual Vespa blows the nitro/aerox into the wind but, for peace of mind reliability, (not just engine but everything as well) French style and economy the MBK/Yamaha an all around winner.

Some of the parts used to build the Yamaha Aerox are really poor quality the screws in particular it may not sound like much but about a quarter of mine crumbled when you tried to unscrew them and I had to get them drilled out which ain't easy, when its wet or cold or even in the summer I had to use my choke to start it and kickstart as it has trouble starting on its own, forget about changing the spark plug you need to take the entire bike apart. An OK bike for a starter but it will fall apart if its more than three years old because of the poor quality materials used to make it.

The Yamaha Aerox 100 is a very good scooter and recommended, but buy a side stand cause if your centre stand falls off in front of a crowd, it is very embarrassing, I know. Get one, they have a few little problems (stand, light, no-vents, well mine has) but doesn't everything have a few problems?

Don't bother! In rain my Yamaha Aerox 100 cuts out and will NOT start again until it is ready to!
This makes it a death trap at night......RUBBISH & a complete waste of money.

um? The Yamaha Aerox 100 is absolutely the best moped I have rode. Beats all of my mates mopeds, I have had the needle go past 50 I have to say I was doing around 60 to 70mph yes MPH. It's not nice at that speed riding 70mph on a bike with cotton reel wheels. But the acceleration is MEAN. For a 49cc moped it ain't half quick, lol

The Yamaha Aerox 100 engine is really bad for starting up I have to kick start it as the engine is always too cold. The front lights are very weak and are dangerous in poor lighting conditions. Acceleration is good once warmed up. Top speed is about 55-60 mph.
