Bought this bike last year having previously owned the 1996 yp250. It has loads of storage which was the main reason for purchase but also has enough 'go' in it to make it an awesome travel companion. I've used it for everything from camping trips to commuting and regularaly get 70+mpg. My only criticism is that the bike could have been finished better. Being a single cylinder it does not need encouragement to produce the ammount of bodywork rattle it gets...and they are mostly immpossible to fi ...

The YAMAHA MAJESTY is a LEMON, in the truest sense! I you haven't figured out that you've been had yet, give it time, you will. I thought it was GREAT too, until the ECU/ELECTRICAL problems started. It's so horrible the dealers can't even repair them! Mine is 3 pampered years old, and under 2,800 miles and it is ruined, not to mention the 2 recalls in 3 years. Beware, when the 1 YEAR WARRANTY expires, and YAMAHA refuses to send your dealer a new ECU, which won't matter because they come flawed ...

Moved up from a Piaggio X9 250, and have now had my YP400 for 3 and a half years and done 26,500 miles. Fantastic all year round commuter/tourer. Very comfortable and plenty of storage space, plus lockable glove box. 40 mile a day commute gives me about 65mpg, on a mix of A and B roads and Motorway. Touring you can get over 70mpg, if not hurrying.
Plenty of power for overtaking, and pretty stable, even in windy conditions. Surprises other "bike" riders who don't expect such good performance fro ...

The 2007 Yamaha Majesty YP400 is an excellent Maxi Scooter. It costs less then the Burgman 400 by Suzuki but is very similar and equal in performance. The bike is so far trouble free. I like to ride it in the summer and to work. I am not that comfortable on the highway in traffic or in gusty winds. It is a blast to ride!
Very good value for price. Fun to ride, especially for beginners. Good styling, braking was good, easy to steer, very well balanced. Like the Yamaha Blue color, would hav ...

I have, and continuing to enjoy my four year relationship with my YP400, I ride it all year round for work and pleasure. I would ideally prefer a V twin motor of larger capacity, such as Gelera have brought onto the market.

The Yamaha Majesty has a good turning radius, good ergonomics, good performance, is very quick, comfortable seat, good build quality, adequate storage areas, good stability, great road presence, easy to handle, a good touring scooter and a blast to ride.
This machine performs more like a motorcycle with the finesse of a scooter.

I am a 5'7" senior lady rider and own my Silver/Black Yamaha Majesty 2007 for nearly 1 year. Bought it brand new and didn't ride any bike over 50cc for 48 years (yes, you read this correctly).
I will be 70 years old this year, and after being crippled for a number of years,(and now having 2 steel hips) my husband encouraged me to buy a 2 wheel scooter. I started out with a Vespa 50cc which I rode for 2 years.
I became "brave" and in Aug. 2007 I bought the Majesty 400cc. I do find it an AWESOME m ...

I've had my 05 Yamaha Majesty for 3 months now. It took a lot of getting used to because of the weight and seat height. As with anything else, the more I ride, the easier it is. Now I love my Majesty and look for excuses to ride. I have an awesome sound system on it which makes it all the more fun to ride long distances. I take my little girl with me on short runs and the Majesty feels no different, like she's not even there. She loves it too. I think I may have to buy her one when she's older.

I bought my Yamaha Majesty in the fall of 2005 and today, 15 July, 2008 I have 20,350 miles on it. Two years ago I rode to Dallas from here in East Ky. Miles for that trip was 2400 total. I just returned from a 1600 mile round trip. I have ridden in rain storms and 40 F degree winter. The fairing is great for deflecting the wx. My longest mileage day was 830 miles. The Majesty is comfortable. I can lock my knees and relieve the pressure on my butt. MPG varies of course depending on speed, but I ...

This is the scooter for me! I had a Honda Reflex and it was great. The 400 cc of the Yamaha Majesty are just right for my 200lbs.
I ride it to work and save money. They used to laugh at me, whos laughing now! 4 dollars a gallon. How about 70 mpg!

I have owned my Yamaha Majesty 2005 now entering my 3 season. I have 31,000km. It is a fantastic bike. I get excellent mileage around 70 mileage per gallon if I am not pushing too hard. I ride double and pull a 1 wheel trailer a lot around 10,000 km per season. I have not had any issues with parts. I have the original brake pads and rotors still 75% available. CVT clutches are still in great condition. It has not broken down once. It really flies. I have had it up to 180km with no handling issue ...

I've had cycles for 40 years or more and travelled extensively. I developed a spinal condition (not related to riding) that made it very painful to get on a motorcycle--so I thought I was done riding (after over 250k miles.) I began to realize that the superscooters might be the answer to getting on an off and not having to use my feet to shift and brake. ..which also became painful. I started looking at what was available and ended up with the Majesty as a nice compromise between city and high ...

Great performance, value for the dollar, good looking, well balanced at all speeds, very well thought out engineering. Did lots of research on both the Burgy 400 and the Majesty. The Majesty won!!

I had lots of fun riding my Yamaha YP400 Majesty to and from work and was just beginning to venture out on the highway when a major problem occurred one evening riding home from work: The engine quit on me in the middle of my ride home. I was able to get off the road and could re-start the engine, but as soon as I attempted to accelerate it would die again. This occurred on July 24, 2007 and the Majesty has been sitting in the dealer's shop ever since, (Oct 9, 2007). Neither the dealer's mec ...

With some minor reservations I like the Yamaha YP400 Majesty a lot. For a 400cc scooter it's quite heavy, but very stiff and stable at speed as a result. I added a DIY friction throttle grip to make longer rides less wearing on the right hand and high-level LED indicator warning lights as a reminder (I still use a car most of the time).

Apart from the useless side stand it's basically a great unit. Car drivers generally "notice it" which helps in traffic. The breaks are great and can be used ...

The Yamaha YP400 Majesty scooter accelerates as quickly as any power-car. Great for pulling away and leaving a big space behind, for safety. Easily goes on highways, with some wind buffeting, but minor.

I ride with high beams on in the daylight hours, so maybe the manufacture of a slightly brighter low beam would be better (minor problem).
The back rest could be a little higher for better support on longer rides.
The glove compartment door could be manufactured in "heavy duty" mode. I thi ...

While awaiting the delivery of a new 2006 Yamaha YP400 Majesty, I bought a yet unsold brand new 2005 model. A scooter is a far cry from my previous mount which was a 2003 Suzuki Bandit 1200S and many people asked me why I would have made such a move (?). All you have to do is notice the silly grin on my face to realize that I am enjoying the riding experience of my new Majesty.

This sweet little scoot fires up flawlessly everytime with its fuel injected 395 cc single. The water cooling kee ...
