Bought this scooter for my wife a year ago and it's absolutely terrible for ONE SIMPLE REASON: The starter Bought new battery, and fully drained it. Kicked it like hell it simply doesn't start. It's always been a constant problem. Winter are worse but now is summer and still not working. I have a couple of mates who bought it as well and they have the same problem. Sometime taking 20 minutes kicking before it starts when you're lucky. Stay away from this 'merde' however cheap you get can it.

stay away from this 2 stroke! have been riding these scooters for over 6 months and have already gone through three - soon to be 4 as the scooter is leaking fuel all over the place due to cheap faulty parts.
when it works it is good, clocking 37-40mph on a flat straight, the only problem is that it hardly ever works as it generally spends more time getting fixed than on the road which isnt good as i commute daily.
found out they are actually built under license in china? explains cheap parts and poor reliability.
overall - wouldnt reccomend.

The worst buy of my life. Bought brand new, oil leaks at 500 miles, Battery dead at 1500, Engine ceased at 3000 miles, shop find no reason why as they see it is well kept.and know me well. 500 'to fix new engine parts.
Major disappointed guy!
Surely a fault in the bike but nobody wants to know.

Would be a very good bike if it would run properly!

We have had the Peugeot Vivacity 50 scooter from new and it is 5 months old from the day it came from the showroom it has suffered from starting problems. When trying to use the electric start it just cranks over and over and over and over again without firing up but if you use the kick start then it will fire on the 1st or the 2nd kick

My wife selected this Peugeot Vivacity 50 Scooter due to its good looks! Within 3 months it had to have a new carburettor and by Xmas 2004, it had been in and out of the dealers on several occasions to have fuel problems sorted out without any real success. The dealers were brilliant and have eventually replaced the carbs again, cleaned them out on several occasions but we are still experiencing problems now (Feb 05).... I would not reccommend this scooter to anyone else.
