Panasonic SD-255 Bread machine. Brilliant bread every time. Had my machine almost two years and it's in use almost every day. I usually bake the medium size loaf, and then there is no waste because any left fits comfortably into the toaster. A friend who initially recommended the Panasonic to me has had hers in excess of 6 years and it is still used daily and working reliably. Other friends have purchased other makes say that they don't always have success. The only minor critisisms I have found is the buzzer is hardly audible and drastically needs the manufacturers improvement, also the non-stick bread pan is becoming very marked, which I assume is being caused by grains. As the white plastic does not look particulary impressive on the work top, I wish Panasonic had given the option of a stainless steel model, but I suppose the priority is the end product ... Brilliant!

Don't listen to ANY bad reviews of this Panasonic SD253 Breadmaker - it's my second one and works like a dream. ANY recipe from any bread making book CAN be adapted to suit regardless what of they say here. We use it everyday, making an assortment of plain, wholemeal and fruit loafs - and it is prefect everytime

This Panasonic SD253 Breadmaker has broken after just after the year long guarantee. It was used very infrequently. I would thoroughly recommend you not to buy it!

Have had this Panasonic SD253 Breadmaker for over 5 years and it has been a dream. Gone are the days of soft tasteless bread - it makes fabulous loaves and I've made approximately 5 loaves a week every week since buying it.

I bought this Panasonic SD253 Breadmaker because I found so many enthusiastic reviews of it - and so I'm very disappointed. So far the loaves I've made using the instruction manual recipes have been pappy and tasteless- - that sort of bread I can buy in the supermarket. I bought a 'bread recipe book for bread machines' but it's impossible to adapt the recipes and the other recipes turn out sticky tastless bread even though I use a good quality flour from a traditional German company.
    Also the b ...

I have had this Panasonic SD253 Breadmaker for about 12 months and find it excellent. It's simple to use and the manual has a wide range of recipes. The bread and fruit cakes come out perfect each time so long as you follow the recipes exactly. One of the most useful features is being able to set the timer so that you have fresh bread in the morning. I have had to order a new kneading blade having thrown out by mistake a mixture where I forgot to add the water! The parts department is efficient ...

Absolutely the best machine I have ever bought - so much so that this is the first review I have ever felt compelled to write. 2 years on, the Panasonic SD253 still makes best wholemeal loaves ever. My last was a much more expensive model that died after 1 year - best thing that ever happened!

The Panasonic SD253 Breadmaker machine turned out perfect bread from the very first attempt. We've been using it almost daily for a couple of months now, and it's exceeded our expectations. Quality of bread is excellent, it's easy to use and keep clean, and it doesn't leave the hook in the bread like our last machine!
This was definitely worth the bit extra we paid for it. We'd previously had a budget model from a different manufacturer, but got rid of that machine as it was a lottery as to h ...

Panasonic SD253 Breadmaker is excellent. I use it every day. 99% good results. Good points are: Ease of use, Simple instructions, Excellent results, Even the quick cycle 1h55 produces good results, >Pizza dough is excellent, use it all the time - save a fortune on late night pizzas.
Buns are good too! The LCD screen is a little too small and dark for me to read without the spectacles.

The Panasonic SD253 Breadmaker is superb, superb, superb. I used to put on a loaf before going to bed at night: the whole process including loading the nuts/seeds dispenser and setting the programme and timer took 3 minutes flat. Durability is rock-solid: used ours daily for 2 years, and only gave it up due to immigration rules into New Zealand!

I highly recommend the Panasonic SD253 model. We love the bread it produces. It just keeps going. We have had one for 3+ years and use it every day, many times twice and it doesn't miss a beat.

I have had my SD253 for 4 years and it is GREAT - the bread is wonderful - we are into olive bread at the mo. l would suggest adding 1 1/2 to 2 tbspns olive oil to the recipe as this really improves the texture of the bread, and would probably prevent drying out if the bread lasted longer than a day or two!!

The Panasonic SD253 is excellent, except for the standard of the non-stick coating in the Bread Pan. The reason for this is because the non-stick coating keeps stripping off. Around the inside of the pan, in line with the heating element, the non stick coating is bubbling and in places, coming off. But the machine is great, I now only buy bread in emergencies or when on holiday, and it is not as good as the bread I make.

We have had ours for over 3 years, regularly baking loaves every other day. No more fatty and over salted supermarket loaves. Great!
If you go abroad, the loaves don't last very long. This is because they don't add fat to the dough! Much healthier.
We haven't fully explored all of the recipes yet as there are so many. Best electrical appliance buy we have ever made!

My Panasonic SD253 Breadmaker is great. I love the bread with a casserole (to mop up the gravy). This machine is very easy to use and also easy to keep clean. The kids all love the pizza dough. With this machine, I have never had a duff loaf. I love a loaf that is still warm in the middle. And to top it all off, the cakes all work well too.

Quick but poor. Waste of money as each of the packet mixes were wasted. Only mixed and created a loaf every other time. no matter what we did it still did not work satisfactory 50% of the time.

People might think £80 is a lot to pay for a bread maker, but it's actually more economical in the long run than buying loafs in the shops - not to mention MUCH healthier, as you know exactly what's gone in the mix.Try adding seeds and nuts directly in the bucket - works a treat.

This panasonic breadmaker makes absolutely lovely bread. Some people I know have other breadmakers but this one makes by far the nicest bread! The dispenser for nuts and stuff is also very handy.

Would try and find an alternative brand now. The Panasonic SD253 is easy to use and makes great bread, but I only bought mine in July 05. It died in March 08, so 2.5 years afterwards.
