Good Points: AccuracyLow CostNo Recoil
Bad Points: Forearm Could be WiderLack of Stopping Power
General comments: I received this Daisy Powerline 177X gun for a Christmas present, and right out of the box, the iron sights were accurate to half and inch at 20 yards. The fiber optic sights on this rifle were the first I've ever used; they generally tend to work better for me than a scope, but I eventually added a 4x32 AO I'd bought for my break-barrel. In terms of accuracy, this gun is where it's at. It beat my Gamo Hunter RealTree at just about every distance. I guess that's mostly due to the 177x's lack of recoil. With the scope, I can hit a plastic spoon consistently (at least every nine of ten shots) at about 100 feet.If I'm not mistaken, this airgun has been discontinued. However, if you get the chance to purchase one, I'd go for it. Even after the four or five years I've had this rifle, it still works great. The seals and chambers are all tight as a drum, and velocity is still around 600 fps. Unfortunately, this rifle is not very good for what I'd really purchased it for- hunting. We'd had some pest problems, and even with a headshot, this airgun just didn't have the necessary stopping power. The one I had tried to take was about 20 yards out, and my rifle was pumped to full capacity. However, for plinking in the back yard you can't go wrong with the 177x. But for anything larger I'd suggest a break-barrel of a .22 caliber airgun.

I've had the Daisy Powerline 177x for 5 months now and I go airgun hunting with this gun. I've killed more game animals in a week than I've killed in a month before. I recommend this gun for a beginner and with Crosman Premier hollow points they acheive around 610fps. This gun is definiately worth the money spent on it.- Read yotehunter's review (72 words and 6 comments)

I bought the Daisy Powerline 177X gun as a Christmas gift for my nephew, who was about to turn 12 in March. He had no problem using this gun. Unlike the much cheaper 10-pump crosman he had bought himself earlier, the Powerline 177X has proven to be very well made and does not break. It uses .177 caliber pellets, as the name would suggest. I picked this instead of the 22X model because .177 pellets are easier to find, less expensive, and less dangerous if they hit somebody.
