The cleanliness, in my opinion needs improving at Godley Stud in Tameside. There are large paddocks and both indoor and outdoor paddocks which is great for all weather conditions. Apart from the tidiness there are no other bad points and i love going to this riding school.

Excellent after-school and holiday activities i.e. shows, Own A Pony Weeks and ride outs. Amazing bridle paths, and really good lessons in the large out-door paddock or a smaller in-door paddock for bad weather. I have been riding there for four years and I am now competing in show and jumping small jumps.

Godley stud riding school has amazing scenery which any level of rider can be taken down, an out door and indoor paddock so you can ride what ever the weather, all the horses are beautiful and have there own personality's which the workers at Godley stud do encourage. I think this is a brilliant riding school and the very best for cheap and well taught lessons.

I would like to say thank you to all the staff i first started at Godley riding school when i was 7 i have now been going there for 11 years and now work there, i first started off doing stable management courses and then asked to start working at the riding school purely for the love of horses. As time progressed i found that i learnt to ride by myself without a leadreiner and now i have passed my BHS Stage 1 with the help and extra lessons from the instructors. I now plan to do my teaching qu ...

I have been riding at Godley Stud now for around 4 years and i love every minute of it ! The staff are great and the horses are fantastic considering how much work they do, and are in immaculate condition. There is a large outdoor menage and a small indoor for when the weathers bad, if you want to ride this is definitely the place to come. I started riding as a beginner and now i am an experienced rider and i can jump and i am so grateful for the service Goldey has given me over the past years !

Godley stud is a fantastic riding school set in the countryside surrounded by many brilliant rides and bridlepaths. The instructors are very friendly and helpful and have helped many people reach the stage of being a confident rider who goes on to do many competitions/shows. I have rode at Godley stud for 8 years and croftend once however I found at croft end the instructors were very strict and i felt as if they pushed and pushed you until you were to there standards. However Godley stud is mo ...

My daughter and i have been riding at Godley for seven years now began her riding at Godley when she was five and began doing Gymkanas at six she was very good at riding i base that on the instructors, she's is now twelve and has her own pony and is now showjumping at a very high and is guaranteed a place at the horse of the year show i would like to give all credit to Godley for that! Another point i would like to say about Godley is that the standard of horses is incredible compared to all ...

When i first started horse riding i think i was afraid of horses. Then when i was around the age of seven i fell off bridey a small pony 11.2 hh. I was really scared after that and started at a different riding school then i came back after the riding teacher wasn't very kind to me. Godley Stud riding school helped back in the saddle and on my first lesson back i rode Doogie, by the end of the lesson i had no leader. I would just like to say thanks to Cheryal Clarie and Jackie who have helped m ...

I have been riding at Godley Stud for four years and have gone from nervous beginner to a comfortable confident rider who can jump and ride individually without assistance. It has been a couple of months since I last ridden as I am recovering from a spine disorder but the instructors have been very patient with me! There are not many riding schools which don`t have a waiting list and ofer private lessons for only £12 (Not in my experience anyway) I would definately reccomend Godley Stud to ...

Some people say that Godley Stud in Tameside is no good for the more experienced riders. Well, all I can say is they aren't really experienced then. I've been riding there for 3 years, and I've won in many a jumping show. It's also helped me to learn more about horses, and I have since been able to buy my own horse. The staff are brilliant with my daughter who has a epilepsy, and they taught my older daughter to jump, and she has now joined a club where she is against Michael Whittiker (jnr). ...

Godly Stud is great for beginners, novices and advanced level riders. They have a livery too, where kids keep their horses. I would definitely buy the farm if it was up for sale!! Godly Stud is a very great place to learn the teachers put you on stubborn horses sometimes because if you get used to the forward going horses you will never learn!!! The staff are great, the girl who said she went and no-one was there had probably gone on their lunch break. There ride outs are GREAT they put you o ...

I had been told about Godley Stud riding school in Tameside by my friend, she had never been but said that it was somewhere you could go and learn to rid. So I went to go and book a lesson and I stood in the office and waited and waited some staff even saw me but just ignored me. So I decided to ask if I could book a lesson and this young girl said erm hang on and walked off, I waited ten minutes and then decided to leave I found this a very strange way to treat customers and I will definitely n ...

I think Godley Stud Tameside is a very good riding school overall and I will definetly carry on going there. I love the horses and find the people helpful and kind. In the winter months I would definetly recommend the rideouts around the surrounding area as they are great fun and more relaxing than riding round the arena.

Riding academy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A riding academy is a school for instruction in equestrianism, or for hiring of horses for pleasure riding. At the time of the Napoleonic Wars, the riding academies were so popular that some of the largest buildings in the capitals of Europe were built to accommodate them (e.g., Moscow Manege).
