“Brilliant !!! ”

Written on: 03/09/2012

My daughter who is 8 really enjoyed the own a pony week . And I will have no hesitation in booking another. She was so enthusiastic she even started revising for the end of week test . She made some nice friends and learned quite a bit about stable management and grooming . I think it has helped her confidence in riding and generally . Thanks to the staff at godley riding school xxx (read more)

After reading through some of the reviews i dont find myself asking do people think they are going to mount a horse/pony and be the next mary king within an hour lesson? horse riding involves skill and time some people are natural at the sport and pick it up quicker then others. as for the 'uneven lane' if it was tar macked you would no longer ride down there as cars would cut through most probably at speed. also that there are no rides around the area! well i can safely say that there are... “Best horse ever!”

Written on: 15/07/2012

I have only had two private lessons at this riding school due to the fact it is quite a way from where I live. Despite the long drive I plan to go back. I am an experienced rider and was given a horse called Stephie to ride who is definitely not your average riding scool horse. She is amazing! The instructor (Cheryl) was excellent and I will definitely be going back. (read more)

Alrite if you dont mind your lessons being cancelled at the last minute because the licence man was coming or some other excuse. They teach you trot and then its like they cant be bothered. The most annoying thing is when you book a private and when you turn up you find out your sharing it. I have been there 18 months then i tried one called b1st riding school and in that first hour i had there i learnt 3 times as much in the half hour lessons i had a godley. Godley Stud is such an amazing riding school! I've been going there for a while now and absolutely love it.

The paddock is a good size with plenty of room to ride in - although it can get crowded on a busy Saturday.
The horses are great and very well looked after, lots of different personalities although I was itching to get on some different horses that were a bit more advanced.

However, I'd find myself in a lesson with small children being led around and rarely got to canter, so I feel... (read more)

I have worked at godley stud for the last 16 years and whilst everyone is entitled to there own opinion, would it not be better to discuss this with owners of the school first rather than writing liable material on here.

First things first we dont have any show horses, we basically have a range of horses that some would call 'dobbins' which are great for 1st time riders or for people who are visiting us for the first time, as am sorry but not everybody who says that they can ride actually... (read more)

I have been at Godley Stud Tameside for almost 2 years and I've had a great pleasure with it.
The only thing that went wrong was the horse tried to run off with me.
At Godley the instructor has been a great help and basically taught me to ride and now I'm hoping to not be scared. Before I was a nervous rider but whatever the instructor puts me on I will ride it without any fuss :P
At the moment I am riding a horse called Steffi.

I rode at Godley Stud for around 2 months and liked how nice the teachers were.

BUT the reason I stopped going though was because they don ' t have the same level of experience in classes. I have rode at other riding schools in the past so was quite experienced but they put me in classes with small children who were lead around by grooms. I didn ' t like it because I could hardly ever canter and when I did it was only at the end of my lesson!!! I am now at Croft End and its much better... (read more)

I rode at Godley Stud for about 8 months, I could already ride but hadn't ever had lessons at a riding school (I was mainly self taught and used to hack out when I was younger). My first impression of the farm was that it was quite big, it has a big outdoor Man ge and a very small indoor one. The only problem was when it rained, the outdoor Man ge got flooded and bits of it couldn't be used.
