Ordered a gift in January and received emails apologising for the delay in receiving stock from the manufacturer, I thought this was great service. Now however, I can only assume it means "we are robbing you and not paying our suppliers, hence they have stopped sending us stock." Do not, under any circumstances give them your credit card number or make a payment with them. I bought two toilet seats at the same time. One from DIY tools the other Homebase. DIY Tools soon broke. I tried to contact DIY Tools by phone, you get put through to Customer Service which is always engaged (off the hook? or more disgruntled customers?) I tried e-mailing - no response whatsoever. Placed an order 13Jan, and a couple of days later got an email saying there was a supply problem and the order might be delayed a little. As the weeks went by I wrote emails to ask what was happening but nothing. I found a number on the website, it answers, says someone will be with you soon and then hangs up. I opened a paypal dispute and they immediately emailed me (within 5 mins) with profuse apologies and a promise of delivery within days. In January I returned an article for a refund. Emails and letters were ignored. I sued them in Northampton County Court and they had until March 2 to reply. I had a letter from the Liquidator today 27 Feb to say that they went into administration on 26 Jan. So you can say goodbye to any refunds due. (read more)

I also opened a dispute with Paypal and today is the final day. I have a concern now though that PayPal will not be able to get funds back from DIYTools. I noticed that the PayPal payment option has gone from the website.

This company is a joke! I don't understand why they are trading at all. I've been waiting 2 weeks for an order. I chose to pay by paypal, they still haven't taken the paypal payment. There is a safebuy logo on the DiyTools Website so I have sent an email asking for them to take some action on my behalf.
hey have sent an email to DIY tools asking them to get in contact via email and to copy safebuy.on the resolution.
Might be worth a try for you and others, let see if safebuy have any teeth !

I purchased an Einhell mini cutter 3 weeks ago, it was obviously used and the blade did not turn. I emailed several times but had no response. I called at various times and finally managed to get hold of a quite abrupt chap who said they would collect and refund. I wrote to Einhell UK, even though DIYTools must purchase their stock from Einhell they themselves are not willing to get involves. Shame on them as well.

I received an item which was not as described and I have tried to returrn as instructed on their website. No reply to 5 emails over a 2 week period. Had a similar problem, ordered a toolset that was described as in stock on 21st December. I wasn't expecting to get it before Christmas but as of 7th January i'm still awaiting delivery. I called their office on the 3rd January and was told 'they had been away so had a backlog of orders to deal with and i would have to wait'. Asked for next day delivery and was told they were too bust to facilitate.

To make matters worse they were not approved suppliers of many of the products they sold. Therefore its up to the manufacturer whether you get a faulty item fixed under warranty.
