Good Points: Swimming pool was cleaned regularly

Bad Points: Having to hire a kettle, toaster and remote for t.v. Towels and bedding not changed often enough. Charging for sun loungers round the pool. Noisy guests

General comments: This was not a cheap holiday and then having to pay extra for basic items like a kettle and toaster was a kick in the teeth. The charge for sun loungers was just another way of fleecing us of our hard earned money. The resort is lovely but would not recommend these apartments, they are old and in need of refurbishment.

We just got back from Club Praia Da Rocha. We loved it. The apartments were cleaned every day except weekends but who'd expect that, they need time off too. They catered for everyone young and old. They are right on the door step of the entertainment next to all the bars and restaurants

The beach is a bit of a killer, 60 steps down is not to bad but coming up is a hike. We've only just come back from Club Praia Da Rocha Aparthotels, what a fab time we had. The apartments were cleaned every day except weekends which is only right, they need time off too. The staff were very nice. There was something there for everyone, we'd go back anytime. There's 4 lifts so there's no problem getting one.

You need to remember that you are only going to get what you pay for. We had a very pleasant stay and found the staff to be generally very friendly and helpful with the exception of the cleaners who were unfriendly and did not attend to the daily cleaning as indicated. Well stocked supermarket and bar and helpful reception staff added to a great holiday!

We as a family of four have been to the club Praia Da Rocha 3 times and we've booked again to go in August. as far as I can see most people writing bad reviews about this accommodation and location are way too fussy and need their head examined. Its a fantastic place to holiday, great beaches, lovely restaurants and mighty Craic at night for everyone.

I stayed 11 consecutive weekends in 2008 with different companies at the Hotel "Clube Praia Da Rocha" Portimao Algarve Portugal, and there needs to be a complaint and a negative review made about this place, it should not be classed as a three star.
To make it simple here is a list that follows.
General service and welcoming was rude, effortless and quite unhelpful.
The TV was (no previous mention or warning) extremely highly priced for a remote and said to have 29 channels of which it did not, ...

Was livable because we only slept (after a few vodkas) and got ready there.

Had a great holiday at Club Praia Da Rocha Aparthotels. Pool area was lovely. We were concerned when I read previous reviews which is why I wrote this one. Sure, you had to pay a euro a day for - kettle, toaster, fan, remote control for tv, sunlounger and parasol but we only used the sun loungers every other day so if was included in the price we would have been paying for stuff we weren't using. We boiled the water in a pan n didn't need the other stuff. Would definitely go again. The resort its ...

I would recommend this hotel as it is cheap and well worth what you pay. It does not deserve some of the reviews it has had although maybe they have improved after bad publicity.
We went as a family of four. Two adults and two kids. We didn't eat in hotel as went out to eat out. There was some good places to eat, one was called the sitting bull; try it there is a great menu. We also didn't stop in for the entertainment as we tend to like to go to pubs at the beach rather than stay in pubs for e ...

Although we weren't overly impressed with the Club Praia Da Rocha Aparthotel, it actually wasn't that bad. We only paid £200 for a weeks holiday, including flight and accommodation, so we didn't expect 5 star quality. The rooms were basic, and you did have to pay to hire a TV remote, which then got you a kettle and toaster, which was a bit of a cheek. But if they'd put the extra £20 on the cost of the room for the week I wouldn't have thought any more of it, and would have probably b ...

It is in a good location and close to other amenities, but you would need to be with this hotel, as it was over-crowded. The pool was filthy. And we also had to queue for sun loungers, and hire basics like a kettle or toaster. It is a very run down hotel, and it could do with a total renovation. It probably hasn't seen a lick of paint in a few seasons.

We had a decent holiday at the Club Praia Da Rocha Aparthotels in the Algarve, but having seen Albufeira on the bus on the way home, I would go there if I was returning to the Algarve!! It looked much nicer, and a step up in class!!

I stayed at the Club Praia Da Rocha last year, and it was hell! It was dirty and over-crowded, and just horrible. The pool was dirty and stank, and the rooms were very dirty. You have to hire everything, even a kettle, remote and a sun longer. I would not recommend this hotel.

Praia da Rocha is a brilliant place with lovely beaches, although this year a lot of work is taking place to put facilities ON the beach, which will be brilliant. Also, the access to the beach is being improved to make it easier.

The best place we found for evening meals was called BARAO RESTAURANT, which is situated around the corner from Fagins fish & chip shop. We tried a lot of places, but came back to the Barao every night during our second week. It is owned by an English lady married to ...

Personally Praia Da Rocha has everything I need for a great holiday base. Don't let the steep hill put you off!! My nan came and she was over 80 and was fine. A little tip: When you walk to the top of the hill, turn right (towards Hotel Jupiter and the clubs.. NOT towards the ruins) and walk along the main strip. About half way down you will come to some steps on the seafront and a little walkway in between the road and the beach. This gently slopes towards the beachfront and is easier to walk, ...

Praia Da Rocha in the Algarve is a fabulous place for a holiday. A lot of people say its Ballymun in the sun; yes, there are a lot of high buildings, but this does not take anything away from it. The beach is drop dead gorgeous. There is a football pitch, a basket ball court, and all on the beach.

Now to the real stuff - pubs!!! When you leave Club Praia Da Rocha the first pub you come to is Dalys Irish Sports Bar who do a wicked breakfast, and they serve food all day. We had super time in ...

Praia Da Rocha, Club Praia Da Rocha Aparthotels - Having gone on the easter weekend there were quite a few other people in the resort so it wasn't too quiet but at least there was plenty of space on the beach and no fighting over sunloungers! The beach is absolutely fantastic and we had 4 good days of weather although it was quite cloudy for the last few days but still nice and warm. One of the local beers is Super Bock and is as strong as stella but nicer to drink and, as we found in a local sh ...

We stayed at Club Praia da Rocha in August 2005 for 2 weeks and it was hell. We were put on the 11th floor with a baby and a lot of the time the lifts did not work. The room was very dirty with mould and silver fish. The shower was repaired by ourselves as was the fridge which had a bucket in it catching water when we arrived. You had to hire a kettle, toaster and fan, the first two which should have been included in the self catering price. We were moved to the 5th floor after 5 days of complai ...

On the whole, I would not go to the Club Praia Da Rocha Aparthotels in the Algarve again.

We were put on the eleventh floor with the baby. We had to change rooms because the room was dirty, and the shower and fridge did not work. Also, when we asked for a late departure from our room, we were told it would cost 60 Euros, which, when we asked for a receipt dropped to 25 Euros.
