Great little car. Great value for money when buying second hand but stick with the diesel its bullet proof. Friends and family that have had the petrol model have all had over heating problems and have ended up costing lots to put right. plus diesels are easier to sell and hold there cost well too.

The Land Rover Freelander, first car I've ever had that has been more than just a boring car. This is my pride and joy. It looks good, feels good, and is good off road. It is not the fastest car ever, but it is fast enough. Reliability is a bit of an issue, we've had to spend quite a lot on it, but in my eyes it has been worth it. We believe that the problems are down to the dodgy garage that sold it to us, and it is not a bad car. We would defo buy another one, but would prefer if funds stretched to it, a TD4. The fuel consumption of the 2.0 diesel engine is fantastic at 36mpg, which is better than our old Mondeo.

In my 1998 freelander 2litre XEdi's lifetime the only problem I have had is Perished viscous coupling rubber, which was a week ago easter weekend 2004. prop bearings and brakepads were replaced. Other than that it is a brilliant vehicle, its good on and offroad, very economical reliable and comfortable. Tows caravan 1233 kerb weight very well, and still economical.

My 1998 Freelander 2.0 Turbo diesel has not given me any other problem than brake pads, once they are worn and need to be replaced, many warning light in your dash go on like a christmas tree, other than that, could highly recomend it! just keep it serviced on time!
