“NEVER EVER SHOP AT H SAMUEL”

I asked them to repair my wife's engagement ring which the Y did. The cost increased by 50% while they had the ring. Then within 3 weeks the diamond fell off which is now lost. Took the ring back to the shop and the manager refused to help saying it was my fault and gold is a weak metal and my wife must have damaged it. “Broken Earings”

My husband brought me a pair of topaz stud earings for Christmas. The stone fell out end of Jan. Phoned them and they said even though I have the box. I need the receipt, I asked them if they could check back to the day. I knew we brought them. Didn't have ring in stock, paid extra to have delivered next day. Called and was told has been posted, was told I would be rung in the morning. No call, so I rang this afternoon only be be told order has been cancelled due to not having my size? Are they for real. Would you not let the customer know? “Awful order and bad customer serice”

Placed the order online in the sale for a wedding ring on behalf of a friend, the wrong ring turned up - called customer service for return and refund - the customer service agent said the ring we ordered was irrelevant as the one received was more expensive. The one we ordered was on a twist and this was an eternity band!! Obviously he has never been married - Rude - unpleasant and was told that we had been advantageous with them......never again!! “No children's watches in store”

Wanted to buy a children's watch for a gift so I visited the Meadowhall branch only to be told they didn't have any children's watches in store. I could order the watch for delivery & be charged or have it delivered to the store for free. The staff couldn't really give me an explanation as to why they don't stock a single children's watch. I ended up ordering one which was quick and easy and the staff were very nice too. (read more)

I purchased an engagement ring on 22/2/13, the ring wasnt cheap at £300 in the sale. It was white gold with diamonds and a pink stone in shape of heart. I was very careful to take ring off whilst doing chores etc. On 24th Feb whilst washing my hands the pink stone in ring fell out.I was distressed but at same time i was very relieved i managed to find the stone. Exactly the same thing has happen to me we bought an engagement ring at Christmas 2011 in March one of the stones fell out I took it back to the shop the girl there said she cold see no damage so the ring must be faulty - The ring was a christmas special offer and was actuall an £800.00 ring today customer service have told me the damage is wear and tear - I work in an office !!!!! I am not a builder and an engagement ring is supposed to be for life????????????? This has certainly took the shine of for me - All you couples beware!

On Saturday February the 2nd, we ordered our wedding rings with my wife from the Oxford street shop of H.Samuel. BIG MISTAKE!!! Received a brand new watch for Christmas went to H Samuel to get a few links taken out because as most ceramic watches it comes in one size so it was too big for my wrist. Rotary watch over £100 and for the 3rd occasion it is being returned. Strap has broken 3 times. 1st watch stopped at will, 2 nd watch lost 5 min each hour. I ordered something online for my daughters birthday present I never received it and was told 3 diffrent dates it was posted to me At one point i was also told it hadnt been posted as there was a problem with the web order system. I have rang them 8 times, written to them and emailed dozens of times. They keep saying they will refund me and never do. Its a total scam. The other item cost £78 and i was promised a refund as it was for a Jan Bday and didnt get here, the refund was promised on the 15th Jan, my emails are ignored, my calls are fobbed off with promises of return calls and still no refund, today its the 28th Jan, never been treated so poorly, so shocked, disgusted and appalled cant get my money back and cant even get replys to 3 complaint emails! Avoid this shop at all costs, its not worth the hassle!

been in touch with my bank, ask about charge back, its where the bank can claim back the money if you paid by visa debit or credit card my bank opening a dispute to get my refund, may be worth having a word with yours, trading standards also

Placed a order for Citizen Eco watch for sons 18th from the sale, had no contact from them so telephoned Customer Services 4 days later to be told order had been cancelled due to no stock. Had nobody let me know and they don't care, just said "oh you should have had a email from our warehouse". Sent a complaint via e mail and 5 days later still waiting, not got the decency to reply to my complaint. He loved using the website as you can zoom right in to photos to look at the smaller details up close. Absolutely disgusting customer service. AVOID AT ALL COST. The 'service' goes as far as taking your money. When I wanted to return a ring today, because it doesn't fit properly (it was bought in my absence by my partner as a surprise that turned very sour), the store assistant turned his nose up and straight away rushed the ring out of the back then returned saying it couldn't be refunded, because it had been worn and was therefore now excluded from their returns policies. If they take the item back it has to be in pristine condition so it can be put back on display and resold. well i would not want to buy the ring you wore for "5 minutes" as you claim. you probably wore it for a day and then had a change of heart. your partner obviously checked the ring before he bought it so if there were scratches he would have seen it. i shopped with h samuel before many times and think they provide great service. if you got a ring and didnt like it why put it on and where it in first place? dont blame hsamuel for your own mistakes.

I have made no mistakes at all. Are you a HSamuel employee by any chance, because you are just as presumtious and rude as they are. As a matter of fact, no I didnt wear the ring for a day, and its not that I didnt like the ring (it was supposed to be a loving present after), it doesnt fit properly, and it also caused a reaction. My partner gave the ring to me, so obviously I tried it on, as I would have done in the shop. If you have an awkward ring size, like I do, you have to wear the ring for a few minutes as,if your fingers are warm or cold the ring won't sit properly. I told my partner immediately that buying me jewellery was a bad idea because I tend to have reactions and within a few minutes it was so.
My partner didnt check the ring, because he's not the type to do that, and besides that, it was a display model and at a reduced price. He was happy that the size looked like it would fit and that he had found one he liked. He was assured there was 30 days return, no questions asked, and no where at any point was he educated to the fact that you werent allowed to try it on.
It was a display model so it obviously had the signs of wear already on.

The store sales advisor was rude and she said she could do nothing about it and that I'd had to take up this issue with the online customer services. I have visited two different H. Samuel stores in the last month, intending to buy two watches. On the first occasion the watch was on display but 10% above the manufacturers website RRP and also damaged on the back. They refused to reduce the price, sell it at the RRP or even acknowledge the damage existed! Bought two rings this Oct at 167 oxford street, London. One has scratches, after 5 days we got the replacement which was even worse! The other diamond ring also has problems. I was given a watch with a metallic wristband which needed two links taken out to fit. I went to H Samuel in Harrow shopping centre (HA1 1AS postcode so that there is mistake) to have them taken out. I showed the watch to the asian guy on the floor only to get as a response "that will be ten quid mate" (as if I knew him from before). update! I sent the ring with a letter stating the above.
H Samuel returned my ring with a copy of the original quiality control report and basically told me that there was nothing that they would do.
They have not addressed any of the issues, nor have they re evaluated the ring.
To say I'm cross is a huge understatement. It would appear that H Samuel don't care about their customers or value their opinions at all. I am getting my ring appraised again and based on this outcome will be taking them to court. I will also be contacting relevant media.
We shall see...

I am terribly upset of how i am being blamed for the lose of my diamond from h.samuals.I had my ring re rhodiumed in the Ormskirk branch, and after having the ring back for 3 days (in which I only wore it once, as I go to college) I noticed a diamond had fell out. Just been told - after weeks of delay in returning my ring from its second repair from H Samuel (the first one wasnt done very well and it broke again - losing a diamond) - that they have 'lost' my ring on the way to their subcontractor. Me and my USA fiance went and brought our engagement rings but after reviewing them a year later, we've found that the diamonds in my fiance's ring was fake! I went into H Samuel in Salisbury as I'd heard they did a silver cleaning service for free, so I took my Thomas Sabo bracelet in for a spruce up as it was looking tarnished and grubby. Just having 925 stamped does not gtee its silver, i have bought goods before that stated they were silver and when they arrived there were hallmarks on it but within a short period of time they had gone a brass colour the item i purchased had a branded stamp on and seemed geniune however was soon to discover this was not the case, i think the biggest problem is with well known brands there easeily faked and sold as real so to ve fair to the jewllers a stamp in the current climate we live in means nothing :-)

24th February 2012 visited H Samuels shop within Beaumontleys shopping Centre Leicester having seen 3 Emerald rings on the web site which were suitable as a 50th Birthday present to my wife. My Husdband brought me a platinum eternity ring for our 1st anniversay, within 1 month the ring was really worn and appeared to have a chip out of the metal, my wedding and engagement (5 yrs ago) rings are also platinum and did not look like this. “Service at its worst!”

I purchased a pair of gold earrings in Oct 2011 and noticed after a few days that they had turned a copper/nickel colour. I returned to the store and explained my concern to the staff. I also advised them that I had numerous gold jewelry worn every day none of which has this persistent nickle tarnish. I bought my wife a gold chain for christmas paid £160 within 24 hrs a link broke i took it back to the shop and they said it looked like it had been caught or pulled (which it hadn`t) but they would send it to quality control who said the same thing (suprise suprise). I have been told i can have it repaird at a reduced rate, the trouble with that is i don`t want the peice of rubbish any more just want a refund but have been told by customer service no chance (read more)
