My husband bought me a beautiful Swarovski ring - at first it turned green/black within a couple of months so I send it back to get it fixed. Since the ring is so delicate when I got it back I only wore it for special ocassion and always kept it in the original box. Now I look at it and again it turned green. I understand that this ring is vermeil but for the price he paid and the care I took I expected it to last longer. I have other vermeil pieces and they last a long time. Also the... (read more)

I've been given various sets of Swarovski jewellery for Christmas over the past few years. It initially looks great but with every set crystals fall out and they start to turn green. I don't cover them in beauty products or water. The shop refuse to fix them, even though I'm happy to pay to get fixed. The shop assistants say that it's just costume jewellery and it's not expected to last. If this is the case- its massively over priced. I've got cheap jewellery from other shops that's lasted... I am currently having an issue with getting a replacement for a faulty product. It came apart less than 2 months after purchase. It can't be repaired and I have not been offered an exchange. Swarovski are saying I have broken it which is simply not true. So, don't just avoid buying online, avoid them completely if you think jewellery at that price should be of a good quality, as you probably won't get a replacement or refund if it falls apart!

Hi there,
I am a Boutique Manager for Swarovski in S.A and am horribly disappointed by your terrible experience with our product..
Interesting point that you have mentionedis that it has taken them almost foever to assist you-However Swarovski's INTERNATIONAL 2 year warranty would cover this problem that you are facing..as long as it is a manufacturing defect and that you are indeed taking care of the product..which it seems you are doing..
However we need to have a lok at the product and the problem.
We have now changed a few policies in my region that the Boutique Manager is able to make a decision regarding any repair matters almoat immediately whilst our consumer browses through our Crystal World..
Please do not give up on this amazing product as yet.. Contact the customer service department and ask for a refferal to the Repair Department..
They will base their decision on the state of the piece which should not take longer than 7 days..
Alternatively, contact me at my store and I will escalate this matter for you to the necessary channels..swarovski@spilhaus.co.za
We put so much effort into each design and the production is one of a detailed procedure- in the sense that these crystals are each set by hand..
Therfore we value your feedback and you as our consumer..
Try this as a start shophelp@swarovski.com and if you still have no joy contact me directly- swarovski@spilhaus.co.za now I am aware that you might be in a totally different region to what I am-but as a consumer myself I would expect some After Sales Support..So I would be more than prepared to either assist you or put you in the correct direction.
Kind Regards,

Dear Sabs3,
I completely agree with your comments. My experience was at a different Swarovski shop but it was practically the same as you have described already in your comments. I already e-mailed the e-mail address you mentioned in your comments and I sent a letter by post. I was given exactly the same response as you were given. That is, I was also told that my complaint had been given to the HR dept but due to their confidentiality clause they cannot tell me the outcome. I am extremely disappointed with the reply to my complaint and I asked my complaint to be forwarded to a manager or someone in a senior position but nothing was done about it. I was told that the complaint has been dealt with but they cannot give me any details due to confidential reasons. Hi
If your gift was returned in same condition it was sold (unworn) in correct packaging you are able to exchange without receipt , ask store to see their returns policy it states current stock items can be exchanged without receipt . Go to another branch if above store refuses as the policy in store clearly states exchange without receipt . Excludes sale items & earrings . Don't give up .

the problem is,under the uk law, the shop do not have to refund you,or even give you a credit note. Coupled with that, without a receipt, the return becomes an admin nightmare ( im a jewellery retailer, so i know this from experience), and im guessing a large company like Swarovski don't want the issue to deal with. Shops that give refunds, credit notes or exchanges are doing so out of goodwill, not because they have to.Sorry :(

When I replied yes, she said well, that's the problem; you're supposed to take the ring off when you wash your hands. Are you kidding me? How inconvenient is that??? I was asked about 10 times if I washed my hands with the ring on. I was told that it should be worn only at the special occasions. earrings can not be returned due to hygeine reasons. Perhaps other jewellers will be happy to accept earring returns, as they are able to use some kind of steriliser in order to clean them, however that just isnt possible with swarovski earrings.
Written on: 14/03/2013
I heard that argument, but my point was that this is unreasonable and illogical. Why is it "possible" to clean them when they have been ordered online, but not when they are bought in the shop? It simply doesn't make sense and is merely bad customer service.
I finally have been able to return the earrings after a few more phone calls with exactly this argument by the way.
I returned the gift and bought instead two other pairs of earrings which actually ensured an even bigger profit for Swarovski. Good customer service would have let me do that immediately, with a smile.

Repair charge if not under warranty is a set charge of £20.00 , hardly a fortune !!!!
Theses products are costume jewellery NOT Gold or Silver so will tarnish and crystals will be affected if not cared for as per care guidelines which means do not spray perfume or body sprays onto crystal , do not wash hands with soap or washing up liquid whilst wearing rings , if products are cared for properly you will have NO problems !

I was advised that they have had several people complaining of the same thing, but there is nothing that they can do. Yes there is!!!! Provide a full refund or replace the ring. ... (read more)

I had a necklace bought for me and wore it once and it fell apart, fortunately the sales assistant exchanged it for me as i had only had the necklace for literally a couple of days. I then had a pair of earings as a present and after 3 months the crystal went completly discoloured and very dull, no sparkle is left. I took the earings back to the shop and they told me that there was nothing they could do as obviously the crystal had been in contact with water. I admit that i did take a... (read more)

I had a necklace brought for me, very pretty and loved it. Within a couple of months 85% of the crystals had fallen out. When into the shop but they said I'd have to pay to have it repaired as they had forgotten to stamp the warranty book. It was only £20 so although I was not happy I agreed. They then sent the unrepaired necklace back saying there were too many missing to repair and to call Customer Services. When I spoke to someone at Customer Services they said that it was my fault as... (read more)

Two weeks ago I sent away my Swarovski Crystal ring to be repaired as a stone has fallen out. Although it was well within its warranty period, I paid the £20 requested by the shop assistant, explained as "company policy" for all repairs. The same assistant advised me that I was "very likely to get the money back as the ring was under warranty."
I was phoned today to be informed that the repair was now complete but that the nature of the original damage was that of "external influence" and not in fact due to a manufacture defect. The price of the ring at the time of purchase was £50 and as such I find the £20 price tag for the repair of one stone unreasonable.
Staff from the shop advised me that they could not deal with repair queries and directed me towards customer relations.
I have now spoken to staff at customer relations and whilst I understand that they can only see the notes on the repair rather than first hand evidence of the damage, frankly I found the attitude I was met with to be inflexible and unsympathetic.
Similar to your experience, the advice I was given was that Swarovski Crystal jewelry is intended for costume purposes only, and should not actually be worn that frequently. Given the price of their products and the reputation I previously gave them to have for producing high quality merchandise, I find this suggestion absolutely ridiculous.
I find it bizarre that their staff would willingly lose custom and risk a previously loyal customer passing on word of their negative experience for the sake of £20.

My husband bought me a beautiful necklace for Christmas and I have many pieces of their jewellery. On Boxing Day my necklace fell off. I put the necklace back in its box and my husband was going to take it back, but due to a bereavement there was a bit of delay taking it back. When he did take it back, the staff were extremely rude, and told my husband that I had broken it! They would repair it but I would have to pay for it to be repaired. He asked to speak with a manager, but was told... (read more)

This is by far the worst customer service ever! Their return policy is 14 days-no exceptions-even though I was out of town. I called the company and he was so rude! I will never, ever buy from this company again. I told the guy on the phone that I would never buy from them again...do you think he cared? Not one bit. Save yourself the hassle and do not buy from this store! I would not recommend them to anyone. I really wish I had read the reviews before I bought something. Horrible return... (read more)

I received a pair of Swarovski earrings for my birthday. However, as ALL their items are made of cheap metal, I cannot wear their earrings as I can only wear earrings with real gold or silver posts. I have been advised that earrings cannot be returned for hygiene reasons, so I am left with a pair of £56 earrings that will now lie on a shelf collecting dust. Given the cost of their items, I cannot understand why they do not make their earrings with precious metals. Would it really add... (read more)

swarovski earring posts are made of titanium and all their jewellery is nickel free so there should be no reaction.
rhodium is not cheap metal it is part of the platinum group (therefore IS a precious metal) and is used to plate white gold.

'There should be no reaction'. With all due respect, I think I know my ears better than you and there IS a reaction. Work for Swarovski by any chance? I appreciate your impartial view.

My husband gave me a Swarovski ring for Christmas and it was too big. We went into the store to exchange sizes, but they were not able to help us since it was an online purchase. I then called the customer service number and the woman advised you only have 15 days to return online. I explained it was a Christmas Gift, and most stores have an extended return policy around this time of year. She said she couldn't help further and I needed to contact Online Customer Service. The only way I... (read more)

Below is my letter to Swarvoski Customer Service... Dear Swarovski Customer Service, For my Birthday at the end of 2010 (Nov 10th) my husband bought me one of your necklaces which I was delighted with. I would say I wore the necklace a couple of times a week and I always kept it in it's original box. However, after a couple of months I noticed a few of the crystals had fallen out which was disappointing. The gold plating also wore off the back of the pendant which I found to be very... Did you ever get a response to this? I have recently had the same issues... my necklace pendant started discolouring and the stones fell out this is after less than a year from purchase. I took it to the covent garden branch and like you got the same treatment. Apparently they wont repair it as the discolouration indicates that it has come in contact with some subtance and this is negligence on my part! Which is just ridiculous. I wear it quite often like you about 4 times a week (which is what you are meant to do with a necklace you love). The only substance it could have come in contact with is my perfume. Which I spray on before I put the necklace on as per the warranty instruction. If the contact with the perfume is what caused this its ridiculous as the likelihood of someone wearing perfume near their neck is pretty standard and you would think that their jewellery should be able to sustain this. They also said they would send it in at a cost of £20 but no guarantee they would fix it! Its now sitting in my jewellery box collecting dust. I really loved swarovski jewellery but I dont think I will be purchasing it again if an item doesnt even last a year

I've had both the flicker necklace and bracelet, both of which were gorgeous when first bought for me but nearly all the crystals have fallen out across the time I've had them both. The first time I went into the store in Guildford with a few months of having the bracelet (my older piece) they were great and sent it away for repair for free and all of the crystals were replaced and the bracelet came back in perfect condition. The second time we were told there would be a £5 cost per crystal... (read more)

Cheap cheap cheap. It looks all shiney and pretty. Wear the pieces a few times and the metal will rust or tarnish then the crystals will fall out. Going back to the store is useless, the sales clerks gives you a number in RI to call to set up a repair order. Then have you ship it to them taking over 4-6 weeks to repair or replace. The return policy is the worse. If you don't like the creap jewlry you better hurry you only have 2 weeks to get your money back and you better make sure it is in... (read more)

For my anniversary present I was given a crystal pendant and earrings set. I really looked after them but the crystals fell out of the earrings. I took them back (I had them less than a year and only wore them once or twice a week). The staff were really sour faced but replaced the earrings. A couple of weeks ago I noticed the pendant was missing a crystal (a year old at this time) so together with the new earrings I told the staff what had happened. They accused me of mis-using them and... (read more)

That ring is one solid crystal, you do need to be careful. There is a warranty on the ring, but only for manufacturing faults. You cant just break something and excpect the manufacturer to replace it.
