Good Points: I have had acupuncture for my hip

Bad Points: having to pay up front and when they appear to use their selling techniques to push other products, but that's what they are paid for, say no.

General comments: I think its far far better than taking drugs for pain, these can cause far more problems than the arthritis, like ulcers. I'm happy with my treatment, and the massage is brilliant.

I paid £150 for some acupuncture sessions. I took 1 session £45. I then required a refund as there was no need for me to have the sessions any more. The shop in Luton then charged me 15% for requiring a refund. I was told the money would be back in my account in a week, it isn't yet and has been over 2 weeks. When I called customer service the lady on the other end of the phone told me to call back another day.

I went into Dr and Herbs for a treatment for Acne, after being persuaded into seeing a doctor...(as their over the counter stuff won't really work !!??) and having a session of acupuncture I was told that I would need to take 24 pills, 2 packets of tea, and some other pills for stress every day for 10 weeks plus an acupuncture session once per week. Then he came back with those over the counter creams and lotions he previously mentioned. I asked how much it would cost and was told over £ ...

When I had a problem with Dr & Herbs, the head office number given out to me was invalid when I phoned. I was asked to pay for all treatment upfront Did not see any improvement in hayfever after the acupuncture treatment.

I paid £230 for a course of ten treatments of acupuncture and massage for insomnia. Only received four before the shop shut down (Grimsby branch). That was one month ago and I still have not received a refund

I walked into my local Dr & Herbs several months ago inquiring about Green Tea. The next thing I knew they had my tongue hanging out of my mouth and asking me whether I slept well and whether or not I felt stressed! I said I sleep well though often feel stressful. Before I could blink the smiley assistant had several boxes in his arms saying each would help reduce my stress levels in weeks. I felt pressured and confused. It wasn't exactly hard sell, though I can understand why the place has such ...

I went in to my local Milton Keynes branch of Dr & Herbs, after a pair of ear burning candles to clean my ears after hearing some good reviews. They were on display for only £8 which was the cheapest I had seen. However the sales lady advised that as it was my first time using it they could quickly do it for me there, which naively I thought was useful. However after a 10 minutes of having both ears done, and I went to pay they charged me £25 for the session plus an additional &po ...

Have recommended Dr. Herbs to others who have had similar good experiences. Query the ethics of bringing over Chinese Doctor's for short stints who can then leave with no notice mid treatment.

The deep tissue massage was quite good and the acupuncture may have a good long term effect but the cost was skyrocketing so I decided to stop after the 3rd session. They lost a customer after only 3 sessions and 21 box of pills !

I went in for one treatment of acupuncture but was bullied into signing up for 10 - I wasn't given the option to pay for one session at a time. I was also sold a weeks supply of herb tea, which I didn't want, but again given no option, despite my concerns. I ended up with a bill for £435 - when I expected to pay £35 - £40.I went to the second session, and while I was being treated, the receptionist came in and said I'd need 5 weeks of herbal teas at an extra cost of £200. ...

I would never trust them again after not being able to get my money back - be careful if you go to a small store where they could pull out quickly and don't buy all the tablets! If you don't want them or cant afford it don't be pressurised in buying them !

The reason I am so positive about the treatment we got at Dr & Herbs in Wakefield is that my wife and I went for infertility treatment at the Wakefield branch and after three years of trying and one miscarriage we successfully conceived and all is going well so far after 15 weeks. The doctor there had stories of other couples she had helped to conceive when we first arrived, so who knows how many successes she has had over the years. It is impossible to know for definite that it was her treatmen ...

I have suffered from insomnia and really bad migraine. I was advised for acupuncture treatments. They were expensive; I think about £25 per session. I also wanted to lose some weight, so had to purchase some tea and herbs, which were awful. I couldn't really take it as they were so strong and smelly. The consultations were with some old lady, who didn't speaking English, and the consultations were in a small basic room. I felt kind of humble and didn't really expect a lot. I ended up cr ...

My 3 year old daughter has suffered from severe eczema all over her body since she was 6 months old. We have been to several skin specialists and doctors etc., and tried every cream ointment, wet wrap bandages and steroid going. We were at our wits end and exhausted, and our little girls agony was no better. Our local pharmacist recommended we take her to see a Chinese herbalist, so we booked into Dr & Herbs in The Potteries Centre, Stoke on Trent. After a 10 minute wait we were seen by a doctor ...

Because I suffer with my circulation, and at times I'm in so much discomfort, I will try anything! I wanted to believe in the treatment I was being offered at Dr & Herbs, and I wanted to give it a chance. I was disconcerted from the off, as I wanted to pay for treatment (acupuncture) as I attended, but I was told that all treatments had to paid up front. The acupuncture itself was a new experience, but I can quite honestly say, in all the time I have attended spa centres for massages, I have not ...

I started suffering from extreme eczema about two months ago, and I decided to approach Dr & Herbs for treatment. I suffered from extreme eczema about 14 years ago and took treatment from a Chinese herbalist in Leicester Square, where I was living at the time. This really helped, and it was totally cleared within a couple of weeks. This is one of the reasons I thought I'd try Dr Herbs based in the Bull Ring in Birmingham. At the first consultation I was asked to take a seat while the 'Dr' ...

I merely enquired about fertility aids at Dr & Herbs, as I was experiencing a lot of pressure at work. Fortunately, hospital results were fine reporting good ovaries and normal hormone levels and a good heart (following an echogram), I decided to query their treatments for relaxation as all of the tests were satisfactory! The Chinese doctor claimed my GP had missed serious problems with my heart and kidneys!! And finally recommended 3 - 4 months acupuncture and Chinese herbal treatments (grass a ...

I was unlucky to have a heart attack at 33, and trusted the NHS to look after me. Low and behold, I had a stroke at 34. I was released from hospital with no aftercare and terrible head pains, and the loss of being able to speak, read or write (Dysphasia), I turned to DR&Herbs. Within 3 days the head pain subsided, and my speech started to improve (not talking miracles, but imagine the relief of being able to say your name again)! I am now back to 98% (I'll never be 100%), and put most of it down ...

I went in yesterday to ask roughly what was involed for weight loss, and to find out the costs. I had a 40 minute consultation where they went on about my heart & throat (I am aware I have a heart issue, for which Cardiology are investigating), but as far as I know I do not have a problem with my throat. They said it was a severe infection that would spread to the rest of my body and make my heart worse. They could give herbs to make this better. I felt very intimidated, as the Chinese docto ...
