I absolutely love virgin mobile it has great plans, i mean would not love to pay $25 for a monthly cellphone plan. i love virgin mobile and will always stay true to no contracts. last time i had a contract with t-mobile and my first bill came to $400 and i guarantee you i did not use that much. I hated them because after that i had to wait to get a new phone so that i do not have to pay that huge as bill. i love the lg optimus v it is a great phone and i do not know why anyone would say it... Written on: 07/11/2010

The worst mobile company I have ever dealt with. Wasted time and money trying to cancel, was put on hold but kept getting cut off. Overcharged on last bill so could have happened before without knowing. Very ignorant customer care man when trying to cancel, wish I had got his name because he should be dismissed. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. (read more)

Written on: 01/09/2009

Their billing is the worst in the world. They over charge OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Money vanishes from my phone without a record of where it went.

Today I discovered that Virgin Mobile has been charging me an extra 10 cents every day for "WAP access", because apparently I ONCE went online and so VM then charges you EVERY DAY from that point on.

Yeah, the refunded me the 3 dollars that I could prove was charged, but they refused to admit they have any records older than 30 days, and... (read more)

Written on: 12/06/2009

Virgin Mobile >Took 3 weeks to port my number! Meanwhile, I had no service but they still charged me for service! Also, they double billed EVERY single month! I had to spend 30 min on phone trying to get a credit back to my mastercard. The second time, they credited it in the form of credit to my VM account! I didn't approve that - they just did it and I had already told the lady I was going to cancel! Now I'm having to file disputes with the credit card. (read more)

I have previously been with Virgin on a pay as you go basis. They were really helpful when I asked for my PAC to port over to Vodafone. Now they have some great contracts from £8.50 per month over 18 months for 100 minutes and texts with an unusually good choice of free handsets. I am now returning to Virgin on contract. I placed my order over the website but I had to ring their Customer Services as I never had an email due to my chosen handset going out of stock. They rang me back... (read more)

Written on: 24/09/2008 by TM50 (1 review written)

First off, I tried ordering a new mobile online - their website doesn't work for me- never has and probably never will. Next I tried emailing them - they are very keen on their automated responses but nothing that actually solves your problems. Tried phoning them - they gave me two options to start with, neither of which I required but in my despair had to choose one anyway....when I finally get through to an operator I am informed that I "probably" need to send them my driving license... I went with Virgin Mobile because I have tried T-Mobile. I signed a 2 year contract. I got no service, and T-Mobile cancelled my contract because engineers that belonged to their company said I could not get service. I was not contract phone smart at that time. To cut a long story short...It cost me $400.00 for breach of contract. My contract did state that no matter the reason of breach, I would be responsible for the $400.00. I purchased a VM phone from Virgin Mobile as a mother's day gift for my mother. The phone was never able to be programmed. They had me send it back to them, and they said they would send me a new phone. FedEx picked up the phone, but I had to contact Virgin Mobile to find out when they would be sending the new one. I'm really sorry I subscribed to Virgin. You can't send text messages overseas which is a big downer for me. the rates are expensive. If Branson put more money into creating a better service instead of throwing money at a massive marketing campaign then perhaps I wouldn't be so angry. (read more)

Two points:-
1. Unused airtime DOES carry over when you top up. The only time you lose the balance is if you go a total of 5 MONTHS without topping, then you lose balance and phone number but within 60 MORE DAYS after that you can have your deactivation balance restored but not your phone number.
2. You can text internationally, you just have to send it to the email address for the other persons cell phone. VM's would be yourcellnumber@vmobl.com. Gotta find the domain for the other carrier and you can send SMS internationally.
Hope that helps :D

If your gas station said they would come round to your house and siphon back any unused gas if you did not use it according to their schedule; or if your pharmacy said they would take back unused medications after 3 weeks if not used, would you still buy from them? Virgin mobile has the BEST PHONES. They just recently added one that has mp3, video, camera pix, web surfing, and even AIM. Their service coverage is amazing. About the phones, I myself have a Audiovox Flasher v7. I have accidentally dropped it multiple times, and it still functions fully. I don't know about the other phones, but that's the case with my phone. Their Kyocera "Slider Sonic" is the sexiest phone I have ever seen, even for planned phones. (read more)

The availability from Virgin Mobile for a replacement product such as home chargers, is zero. No one seemed to care whether or not I remained a customer. I have made 6 attempts to get a charger for my phone, because they took my other phone charger and kept it. I cannot replace it because no one sells them. My phone is still under warranty, and I have not been able to use it for the last 3 months! (read more)

I own two Virgin Mobile phones. I read some reviews on this website about defective phones, and/or phones that broke after being dropped just once onto a carpeted floor. I find that VERY hard to believe. I am a klutz, and drop my phones ALL the time, and they have NEVER malfunctioned. Plus, I recently lost my phone at a job site (construction), and my poor cell phone sat buried in the mud while it rained all day. I got my phone back after 8 hours, and thought it was a goner. I've had a Virgin mobile phone for 1 1/2 years now. Over Christmas I bought myself the new Vox and after one drop on a carpeted floor, it was broken. But hey, the old phone is still kicking. I bought a 20$ phone card at Target, went out in the parking lot and activated the card. No service. I've had post paid phones in the past but have always used too few of my minutes.
If you just want a phone for emergencies or rarely use your phones, go with virgin mobile, they are by far the cheapest among the prepaid carriers.
Coverage in the US is OK, not the best however. Anyone who has had a Sprint phone knows how it is, there are black spots and drop calls, but I guess it's tolerable.
Those who like to chitchat on your phones better stick to the regular post paid ones, since at... (read more)
