    Bad Points: No bad points!!


    General comments: The hotel staff at Belle Mare Plage Hotel were exceptional in the service they provided. They were polite, very able and willing to tend to your every need. The hotel had excellent facilities for all the family. You can do as much or as little as you like. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone and we are going back this year. The people of Maritius are lovely!!

    We stayed 2 weeks during July 2007. Our first impact of the hotel as we arrived was stunning and for us that 'WOW!' feeling never went away. We had a truly fantastic time. Ours was the "basic" - a 'prestige' room (all the rooms face the beach) The room fittings were superb (air con, glass basins, walk in shower etc) and throughout our stay it was superbly well maintained by a team of staff - flowers on the bed every night was a really nice touch.     Returned after several years away, and the NEW Belle Mare Plage hotel in Mauritius is outstanding! Superb new rooms and villas. Truly 5-star level service, although there were a couple of aspects to the room which were not totally 5-star. Yet, the value compared to other 5-stars in Mauritius is extremely high. Will happily return.

    We have had a fabulous 2 week honeymoon at the Belle Mare Plage. The scenery is stunning - the hotel upgraded us to a beachfront suite and our uninterrupted view of the ocean was second to none.
    We found the staff to be extremely friendly - nothing is too much trouble. There were loads of them around everywhere - this is their off-season and they train all their new staff at this time.

    If you're after golf, then you may want to consider the Belle Mare. But if it's sheer luxury that you want, on a beautiful beach, go elsewhere.
    The staff are absolutely useless, though smiley. The beach is narrow and we found it almost impossible to swim in the sea due (best to walk about 10 minutes to the left towards the Saint G ran).
    There is quite obviously of bad management issue at this hotel, and it doesn't deserve all these stars. Best go somewhere else.

    Have just come back from a very disappointing 2-week honeymoon at the Belle Mare Plage in Mauritius.
    Beautiful architecture, but the service is absolutely useless. Obviously no training or management provided to the hundreds of staff who float around the place.
    The swimming pool is dirty from about lunchtime.
    The beach is really bad (you're better off walking 10 minutes to the left, direction of Saint G ran).
