Good Points: Staff, food, cleanliness, great atmosphere.

Bad Points: If you don't like seafood (me) you may struggle sometimes

General comments: Just come back from Tropical Hotel in june 2008. To all those finding fault, how?
The staff are fantastic. The food is brilliant and the hotel was spotless.
    Would I go again?

    Try stopping me!

The Tropical Hotel in Mauritius was ok. It's not the best but clean and tidy.
It's ok, but I wouldn't go there again.

My husband and I have just come back (8 March 08) from 2 weeks (honeymoon) at this lovely hotel and it came highly recommended through our travel agents (2Js Travel- thank you) and a couple who came on their honeymoon in June 2007 who gave us a few tips beforehand. After a12hr flight and a 50min transfer to the hotel, we were greeted by the Head Receptionist with a Mauritian smile, cool face towel and a tropical cocktail - very nice personal touch! We were then advised of the hotel's facilities ...

Hotel taxis rather expensive, and if you walk to the road and take one outside they are much cheaper.
Buses work well once you work out the system.

Having said this we had a wonderful holiday and would love to go back again.

Have just come back from a wonderful 12 nights in Mauritius, at the Tropical Hotel. We were a little concerned after a few negative online reviews however these are completely unjustified in our case. This little gem of a hotel is well kept with very friendly staff who made our stay so enjoyable, the food was excellent also. The rooms although small were kept exceptionally clean, and were very comfy, with great sea views. If you are looking for a charming small hotel with great service, this ...

I must admit having read some reviews about the Tropical Hotel in Mauritius I was nervous to say the least before arriving there on our honeymoon.

Those fears were allayed as soon as we got there, by staff who just could not do enough for us. The bedrooms weren't great, but they were functional and kept to a high standard.

The food was awesome, and we were actually moaning about putting on weight (in a light hearted way). The menu was varied and there was always a good selection.

    The en ...

The tropical hotel in Mauritius surpassed our expectations in almost every way. We had read some rather negative reviews, so we were a little anxious, but immediately upon arrival we were made extremely welcome. It is a little gem, perfectly situated with a beautiful clean pool by the bar. The all-inclusive service is exceptional(definitely recommended)! The food is excellent, and we found it very healthy, despite eating 3-4 course meals 3 times a day, we did not put on weight! It is quite diffe ...

I chose to stay at the Tropical Hotel, Mauritius due to its proximity to the island of 'Il aux cerfs'. The bedrooms were a BIG disappointment. They were however clean and the bedlinen was changed daily. The rooms were well positioned facing the sea. Photos of the hotel are shown with good looking sand. What sand there was, was course, and there was a lot of seaweed. Despite these faults, our stay was most enjoyable. It is a small hotel, but despite its size, entertainment was put on every ...

We stayed at Le Tropical in February, and it was horrible. The food was bad, the room was swamped with ants (in the bed), you could not walk on the beach, and it rained all the time.

We were moved to Merville Beach, which is a great hotel and the staff, food, etc... were lovely.

Tropical Hotel - Came back yesterday after staying two weeks in the Tropical Hotel, I loved it, had a wonderful family holiday. We went for my mum's 50th birthday and it was lovely, all the staff there are so nice and helpful. The hotel itself is very clean and is nice and peaceful. They made my mum's birthday a really special everning by decorating our table and making my mum a cake, also when we arrived there they noticed it was her birthday so they put champagne and a fruit basket in her room ...

Had a dreadful experience - Tropical Hotel Was maybe a great hotel 8-10 years ago.....We did notice the hotel had received awards but not since the mid 1990s- We paid top prices for a low budget accommodation- I cried it was so bad! We did move however to a beautiful hotel so we did finally have a wonderful holiday in Mauritius! Beautiful island and lovely people.

Le Tropical Hotel is situated on the east coast of Mauritius near to the famous ne & Only Le Touessrok hotel. Le Tropical is part of the Naiade group and it has an excellent position directly on the coast.
