“Me and my partner arrived to the hotel about 2 am 28th...”

written by on 11/01/2010

Me and my partner arrived to the hotel about 2 am 28th December. Of course we paid for hotel since 27th. In there, on the doors security took off our language, they didn't speak any English. When we got to reception desk, non of staff didn't speak English either. Finally after half an hour we got the keys to the room. Unfortunately they said, they cannot provide any food and any drinks for us. First all resort look very nice, it's big, have lots of palms, two swimming pools, but this feeling is not for long. We booked all inclusive, sea view, one bed room. We got 2 double beds, broken, dirty fridge, broken tele, horrible bathroom with bronze water and no towels non sea view room with dead roach in the shower!! In reception we were told, that room we booked is not available, because all rooms are occupied just now. We booked our hotel 1 month before, but they didn't care and told us to come back to reception at midday the next day. The next day we had to argue with receptionist to give us room we paid for, they were very rude and speak very poor English as all of hotel staff, I mean ALL. Finally we got a nicer room, but to have a sea view, we need to hang out of the balcony and be lucky there are no neighbors on the other balconies:) in there, hairdryer didn't work and the shower broke down after 3 minutes use. The next day cesspit just next to front entrance blasted out! First meal - breakfast. My partner went to the restaurant to get me some food, when I was still sleeping. When he tried to take it out from the restaurant, service there started shouting and took the plate from his hand by force! If you mean all inclusive- in this hotel it means warm water and juice in 150ml plastic cups, local copy of alcohols eg. JONNIE WATER and FUNLANDIA, if you wanted normal glass you had to pay extra $3, which is £2, greenish omelets on breakfast, dead flies in the food, terrible, no-communicative service, not nice at all. In hotel work only men as their religion says, they look at woman as at peace of meat and you can clearly notice that as soon as you get there, service stare at woman at all times trying to touch you pretending friendly conversation, it's not nice experience, I didn't feel comfortable in there at all even being with my partner. Not surprising in last day of our 'luxurious holiday' we were informed just after 5 pm, that our room is paid only till 12,so we have to pay $80 for late check out. We said that because of their mistake first 18hours we stayed in the worse room ever, not the one we paid for, but they didn't care. Our transfer came in at 9pm so we stayed in the hotel. At 8.30 we went to restaurant to get some food, while we were eating one of managers came to our table and said we cannot eat anymore, as we didn't pay for this particular day, my partner got crazy and we left restaurant. In reception desk we were asked to pay $43 for this dinner. They said if we will not pay they are going to phone the police. We asked one of duty managers Madamme Hoda to solve this problem, she was trying to hide and said to one of receptionist to said she is not in the hotel, but we clearly saw her 2 minutes before. We said that we saw her and she came out. She offered we will write that we really like the hotel as it would be probably only one positive opinion about this hotel, sign it by name and surname and we will not have to pay for late check out and dinner. Of course we refused and pay everything they said. I've lost my time any lots of my money for this holiday and I am really upset and feel embarrass about that, I don't want anyone else to destroy they free time having holidays from hell. Better stay away from this resort. Have a nice holiday guys! xxx

Dirty, dirty, dirty. Bedclothes not changed when we arrived, towels dirty, food simple, declared late breakfast and afternoon snacks not available, tap water sometimes yes, sometimes no, boys almost not moving, minibar not working, beach bar open when they want, in the pool no water changed, except of basal food and drinks everything is payed extra. The beach is very nice and clean, this is the only positive of the hotel. Never more in my life and I don't recommend to anyone to go there!

I liked it at the Royal paradise resort the location was spot on, we had clean towels every day the beds were changed everyday as well the food was good great choices, salads we very good the pasta station was also good. The walk to the beach was pleasant and not far from hotel complex. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The waiters in the restaurant were very good and helpful

No good points about this hotel it was dirty. At first the hotel looked nice but we did get there at night. The bathroom smelt. The pool was never cleaned so we never went in it. We only went for a week, the food is not good. This is never a 4 /5 star hotel I would not give it 1 and if you are going there on holiday good luck.

written by MIchelle 25 on 19/05/2008

I would not recommend this hotel. Some of the hotel residents do not believe in queueing. The staff speak very little English and when they do they are asking for money, they ignore you most of the time. The rooms are very dirty, we had water flowing from the toilet onto the bathroom floor every day and when we told our rep or left him a note he did nothing about it
If you want to try and climb over rusty iron railings to get to the sea, go ahead the jetty is broken and very dangerous, so everyone walked over the reef which is not good for preservation at all. Only plus point was the gardens which were beautiful.

My mother and I booked a late deal to the royal paradise, but after reading the reviews we were expecting the worst!! However, credit where credit's due-we had a fantastic time! The staff were all very friendly, the rooms were comfortably furnished in a great location, overlooking the pool, and the beach was easily accessible. The sea was beautiful, and the fish were amazing !!!! There was always plenty of choice in the restaurant.
Our friends were staying just down the road at dreams vacation, but we much preferred the Royal Paradise (friendlier staff and better location with it's own beach!)
A great holiday, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will definitely go back to the Royal Paradise next year.

We have just came back from our dreadful and disappointing holiday at Royal Paradise. We have nothing nice to say about it, food was bland and same every single day, drinks in small plastic cups, the pool was freezing cold and on the beach annoying staff offering all kind of things. If you are going to spend your nights hunting mosquitos it is the best place to go. Good luck!!!!!!

“We have just returned from this location a week ago, I...”

★★★★☆

written by scmuddy on 27/02/2008

We have just returned from this location a week ago, I can tell you my wife and I enjoyed the stay very much, (peace without are kids).
The Hotel grounds are first class, well maintained.
Room size very good with good wardrobe space. Bad point the walls are very thin if you know what I mean.
The hotel was full of Russians with a few English people. The Russians do not know how to queue pushing in front of you.
I agree the food was a bit bland, but you are in a different Country you have got to give it a go.
On the drinks front, plastic cups too small and you have to keep going up to the bar for a refill. I will say that I never saw any lying around the resort.
The bar did run out of Lager during a meal time and a couple of evenings they run out of Gin and Rum.
The pool was very very cold, the sea was much warmer.
Going out is fun for the first couple of minutes and then it starts every 20 seconds a taxi pulls up offering a lift you say no and then beep beep another turns up and offers the same.
The shop keepers are very annoying keep trying to tempt you in and closing the doors which was a little scary, the shopping mall is great brand new.
Overall we both enjoyed the hotel and would recommend to others, the snorkelling from the beach is out of this world.
ENJOY

“Just got back from this resort on 3/2/08. The...”

written by moore999 on 20/02/2008

Just got back from this resort on 3/2/08. The disappointment was thinking it was going to be 5 star with all the trimmings. No, we didn't pay 5 star money but did expect a better standard. The hotel is 3 star at most. The garden areas are very nice and kept well and the staff are very pleasant but lets face it they are all working on that end of holiday tip. The English channel on tv is ten seconds out of sync, we would all laugh about that. The food is at best "bland" there is never anything special on the menu, however the bread was very good. The beach area looks like a bomb site, not very inviting at all. Of a night every one gathers in the "lobby bar" picture your granny in a nursing home sitting in on of those high backed chairs and you will get the picture. The drinks are basic local stuff, no cocktails, no wine and no branded spirits ! Beers are served in those little white vending machine cups with half of it being froth (2 swigs and its gone !) The pool area is great but would have been nice to have a cocktail or two.
Going out.....Naama Bay was great, plenty to do, good food and drink and a good atmosphere, HOWEVER (here we go)..the hassle you get is terrible, every 2 yards you have some shop or bar owner touting for business or passing comment on your Mrs. They say chat to them and don't be rude but you would never get down the road if you did ! If they left us alone we might actually go in their shop! <
Other tips. Taxi Airport to hotel was £15, Hotel to airport was £6,hotel to Naama bay £2.50 (and return), £1 - £2 for a beer. Loads of taxis everywhere.

We went here this month, and it was an awful hotel. We have been to plenty of hotels and countries and this is by far the worst. We were moved hotel rooms as the first one was not useable. The second room was a little better. Lots of building work on hotel grounds. Food was not nice at all. English were not catered for at all. Not a 4 star hotel. Bearly a 2 star hotel.

Please do not go to this hotel. I can not stress enough.

Need to sort out the food at Royal Paradise Resort before i would ever consider coming back here. The pool needs to be heated in the winter months. Hairdyer only available if you asked but limited supply. Entertainment poor or nothing at all.

“No cashier facilities at reception ”

written by rhodd on 02/11/2007

No cashier facilities at reception
Drinks in plastic cups
Bedding didn't fit bed
Hygiene in restaurant poor (staff clothing dirty, table covers dirty)
Food - very poor. Same choices every day. Lunch and dinner = mashed potatoes, cabbage, fish stew, beef stew, chicken stew, pasta dish.
NOT 4 star - 3 star max.
Lovely weather
Beach location (although never room on sunbeds!).

★★★★☆

written by boomerp on 16/07/2005

Sharm El Sheikh, Royal Paradise Resort, Egypt is a 4 star hotel, with good location just next to the beach. It is situated just next to the hilton resort.
The best thing about this hotel is the stunning reef. The hotel is situated just next to it. At anytime, you can go into the water an watch the sea life.
I found the food average, and the menu was monotonous.
There are two types of apartment, one in the hotels new part, and those in the old part. Which one you get is a lottery. So sorry for you if you get the old one.
To sum up... Royal Paradise is situated in the best area of sharm el sheik due to its reef, and it is not so expensive as situated just next to it hilton resort, but as I said the food quality is not the best, and there are some room problems.
