Good Points: I love the compact size, the feel of the casing, the large clear screen, the many facilities that are easy to set up and the clarity.

Bad Points: The periodic bleeping and the fact it doesn't hold a charge for more than half a day!

General comments: Surprised at my rating? I have a BT Calypso 1100 DECT Cordless Telephone (2) I have been luckier than most because my telephones have lasted me for about 5 years. The top rating covers the telephone for about 3 1/2 years after which time I began experiencing the same problems as many other owners. Silly sounding bleeps and batteries not holding their charge for more than half a day? We have bought new sets a couple of times but without success. I feel very sad because this telephone for me is absolutely perfect and I haven't found another one yet, that I like enough to take its place. If only I could get it repaired I'd be absolutely delighted.

I purchased my BT Calypso package less than two years ago but it started playing up just out of its one year warranty period. Like other users, the beeping noise was irritating and occurred for no particular reason. Mine was a four handset package and gradually the extensions failed until I was down to two. Obviously I tried recharged and then replacement batteries but to no avail. It's no joke to be continually cut off when having a phone conversation. A very disappointing and expensive pr ...

BT Calypso 1100 DECT Cordless Telephone - I've had this phone for 10 months and something bad has happened to the speaker I am guessing as we just get horrible crackling sounds instead of melodic ringing. I do not think it is worth the £89 I paid, yes you get a flash colour screen and it does have some handy features, i.e I can ignore the mother in law!! but then many cheaper phones have this option too! I could not find my purchase receipt, but was sure I had registered the phone with BT, ...

Everything about the BT Calypso 1100 DECT Cordless Telephone is good with the exception of the fact that it emits annoying beeps if not kept on the charger.
This is annoying at night as the beeps will wake you if the phone is in the same room.
The dedicated helpline denied this was a problem with the phone and put it down to the environment in my house. However they did have a code number to hand that would allow me to obtain a full refund on the cost price fom my retailer. This suggests to me ...
