I was upset to hear that Bride be Lovely were going into adminstration as I had fell in love with my dress and like a lot of brides to be I thought the worse! I rung the shop every other day just checking if it had arrived and the girls were really lovely and understood my panic. My daughter and I went to Bride be lovely in september 2011 and paid half for her weding dress ,veil and Tiara and like everyone else found out that they had gone into administration /liquidation. I had to plan my wedding in a rush and I was lucky to find what I wanted in the size I needed on the shop. The shop is nice but the owner needs to improve her customer-service skills: she kept changing her rules as we were speaking (when we entereted the shop, a deposit was enogh to secure the dress and before leaving I had to pay the full amount otherwise she woulnd't put aside for me; same thing about some accessorizes which I bought there). I went to Bride be lovely and bought a package which included my dress, veil, tiara and 2 bridesmaids dresses. I also bough an additional 2 bridesmaid dresses and an underskirt, this was all paid for in December. Since I have found out that their now in administration. I have received a letter saying they will honour those dresses that have been ordered before 31st January, I'm a bit reluctant that this will happen though. Today on this site i found out that Bride Be Lovely had gone into Administration. I telephoned the shop and was told they would guarantee the dresses to be delivered in February and was given a number to ring. I telephoned the number and was told that we should still receive the dresses in February and that official letters had been posted out. I think it's a real shame, the staff at Bride Be Lovely have been more than helpful to my daughter. I just hope we get the dresses and don't have... (read more)

I have bought my dress from here in november 2010 for my wedding in june 2012 . Due to wanting to lose weight i did not want to be sized then went for my sizing in dec 2011. I contact the shop as paymrnt for the rest was due and advised they have gone into administion but beacuse i had been sized and order placed i would still recvive my dress i am still worried that i wont get it. I had paid the deposit which was near £500 and not yet been sized because only days after ordering my dress I found out I was pregnant. I'm now nearly 5 months pregnant and with a big bump. My mum phoned the solicitors, who said that if I wanted to keep my dress I needed to be sized and paid remaining £500 for my dress before 31st january to be sure I'd get my dress. Also then the dress would be able to be picked up from another shop or a hotel, but obviously I can't get sized yet as size I am now with being pregnant I'm obviously not going to be that size when want dress. Also myself even if I wasn't pregnant and could get sized, well I have feeling would pay the remaining £500 get sized they say oh you can get dress on such and sucha date from where ever and I have feeling it would be just words and wouldn't get dress. And then lost even more money. It is bad enough loosing £500 without loosing £1000. So I totally understand ypur concern with unsure if would get dress yourself. I sure hope you do. But as for me well thankfully we aren't getting married till August next year so now have to start saving and looking for another dress all over again. How did you pay your deposits? Although we've been promised delivery of our dresses I still checked with my bank yesterday and because i paid deposits with a Visa Debit card i am covered on their insurance for none delivery of someothing i've paid a deposit for. You've just got to show the bank proof that you've contacted the company concerned. So i'm making sure i've got copies of everything and dates and times of conversations. Good Luck with everything

I called them yesterday as im due to take delivery of my dress this week (and received the liquidation letter on saturday) - yes they are going into liquidation but are still taking delivery of dresses (not sure up to what date though) - they aren't sure as to when the shop is going to close but if you dress has been ordered for delivery soon then it will be sent and if not at the shop then at a local pick up address

I called Bride Be Lovely today (Friday 13/1/12) about my wedding dress and 4 bridesmaid dresses and was advised that they have gone into administration. I have lost all of my dresses and my money and I am getting married on 6 May 2012. I have no money to buy other dresses and have no idea what I am going to do! I also ordered my wedding dress from here but have been told that the administrators are going to try to fulfil all orders already made with the manufacturer.
If you have paid deposits and have been told you aren't going to get your dresses you should contact PKF, who are the administrators, and they should send you a form to declare yourself as a creditor. You should at least be able to get some of the money back, if not all. You should have got a letter through the post at some point about this.
It sucks for us but the women that work there have lost their jobs and despite that they have been really nice to me, trying to sort out my dress so I think we should remember that they didn't make this happen and cut them a bit of slack.

if an order has been placed for delivery soon then they are fulfilling them (im getting married on may 4th) and due to take delivery this week -
The administrators will make sure the orders are fulfilled as its not in the administrators interests not to (they need to get the money from the shop dont they)
Speak to the shop - they will have a better idea - i felt like you did when i got my letter on saturday but all may not be lost - honestly and if they have told you that you wont have your dress then do as 'Guest' says and declare yourself as a creditor and take it from there - the girls in the shop have been great
and if you paid your deposit by card then you should be covered too

same thing has happened to us we also lost our money and unable to get mmoney or dress. We went into the shop in October and noway did they not know back then that they were in finacial trouble. They knew and still took mine yours and plenty of bride to be money. We are so angry. I wish you good luck getting other dresses and hope everything turns out ok. Good luck with your wedding. Least we have just over a year to get my wedding dress and brides maid dresses found again. But thats besides the point none of us should of had to go through this. I also believe they knew they were in trouble but still took our money.

Well I hopefully will be getting my dress tomorrow. Yes I'll have to pay for alterations myself but after recieving a letter off Brides be lovely solicitors yesterday saying basically due to only paid my deposit £500 for my wedding dress and not yet had a sizing done I would loose deposit and dress. I would only be able to keep it if went and got sized by 31st January and pay the remaining £500. This isn't a option as I'm nearly 5 month pregnant with a big bump. So very angry yesterday. Today my mum phoned the shop themselves and asked if could simply go in and buy the dress tomorrow and walk out with it tomorrow. We were told all the dresses were being sold off cheaper and that my dress was in the shop for sale so if still want it yes can come buy it with a possible discount tomorrow. Yes we will have to pay for alterations elsewhere as I don't get married till August next year. But least we aren't loosing money and the dress. Fingers crossed all goes well and we get dress ok tomorrow. And hopefully you will also get yours try contacting them again as they are selling all dresses cheaper.

I have bought mine from there but said i am getting my dress still not sure so have had to look at a back up plan. They said i would get mine march or april but if i dont i get married 1st june so doesnt give me much time but have found a shop that doesnt require you ordering it mths in advance it may be worth a look it is called bridal basement they have a web site they are all designer dress but at half the cost. When i looked at the web site they have brillant reviews. It is based in liverpool and you can go and try as many dresses as you want on. hope you get sorted

I would just like to say I have had a easing time with Bride Be Lovely.
I am not your average woman and I have 2 weddings. I have purchased my big wedding dress with them and I thought for the other I would try a designer dress.I did need alterations and the wedding was in 1 week and to top it off I had just dirtied the dress down the front.I was nearly in tears.

I went into Bride Be Lovely this past Sunday, without an appointment, and was able to try dresses on straight away. Other bridal shops I have visited have never been able to offer me such a chance without appointment.
The woman who I saw was great and very helpful, showing me dresses she thought would suit my figure and helping me try them on if I wanted. She was honest about which dresses suited me and which ones didnt without being hurtful or making me feel bad.

This shop is diabolical. I am really disapointed that they made you feel so unwelcome in the shop after the deposit had been paid none of the staff have customer service.
I wouldnt even recomend this shop to my worst enemy.

I loved Bride Be Lovely. My Partner and I are having a civil partnership and both of us will be brides. We were seen by one shop assistant who was really really helpful, friendly and non judgemental. She knew what dresses would suit our figures and really made us feel at ease. They had quite an extensive range of dresses and many sizes available in the store.

Genually happy and willing to help. Helped you in the dress in a private dressing area. Once in the dress you could walk round in the private area without the rest of the shop/customers seeing you. Could try on the dress as many times as you liked on the day and pinned the dress to fit your body type. (read more)

I went to Bride Be Lovely on a Saturday in January. We had booked an appointment and were welcomed into the shop. The staff seemed like they really knew what they were doing. I went into Bride Be Lovely in Manchester after my housemate rang to tell me about a dress he had seen in the window. So I went in to have a look. The staff in the shop were very helpful & explained about the different dresses, & I picked 5 dresses to try on. I only needed to try 1 on, which the assistant recommended first. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted, and the sales assistant at Bride Be Lovely in Manchester understood first time, and only showed me dresses in that style. In the end I chose a simple dark ivory dress for 450 pounds, which turned out to be last years stock, and 45 pounds, not 450!! It fit perfectly, with no need for any alterations at all; not even dry cleaning.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I was offered extra money off a sale dress to allow for alterations to be in my budget. It was the only bridal store in Manchester that offered us a wide variety of none white dresses and I didn't have to make an appointment. They made us feel welcome and were not snobby which I had found in other stores and so left. I would recommend Bride Be Lovely to my friends! (read more)

Bride Be Lovely is a bit scruffy, but have loads of dresses for you to try on, went in with my sister and mother chose a dress to try on which did not suit myself ,the assistant said she had the right dress for me , she did it is gorgeous, the staff get you dressed up with all your accessories on make you feel like a princess. From the outside of this shop I would never have considered going in for my bridal gown in a million years, if it wasn't round the corner from my best mate's flat and we just popped in on the off chance!
The decor leaves a lot to be desired, and Bride Be Lovely in Manchester is not the kind of shop you imagine your dress coming from, or at least if like me you've been picturing 'the dress' since you were 10!

The Bride Be Lovely store in Manchester has a good range of dresses on offer. The general shop environment is a little shabby and could do with an update. Staff are quite pleasant. Additional stress now added. I have to find somewhere to store my dress for seven months, and somebody to do the alterations. I have also had to e-mail the dress designer at Bride Be Lovely in Manchester to ask for advice on how best to store the dress to avoid any damage, as I will need to remove it from this cheap plastic bag. I will not be able to cook anything in case the smell is transferred to the fabric, which will mean another expense of cleaning. I have to try to do all this... (read more)

I hope your daughter does get her dress. I have looked at a back up plan just incase i have found a shop in liverpool called bridal basement which stockes over 500 dresses which are available to buy and have altered within a week maybe worth a look i always think if you have a back up plan everything will work out.
