I met the Leeds Mia Sposa team at a wedding fair in Harrogate this is a family run business who also own the huddersfield Mia Sposa. All seemed well and i was dealt with in a professional way at the show, having tried on a dress i liked i later decided to go ahead and purchase the dress, i live in Middlesbrough and could have sourced the dress a lot closer but i wanted a friendly professional service and decided it would be worth the journey to leeds for the experience. I bought my bridal gown from Mia Sposa Leeds and also my 3 bridesmaids dresses. At first everything was great until I realised the dress I tried on was a size 14 and was a perfect fit although needed taken in slightly around the bust. You can imagine my horror to find out the dress they had ordered for me was a size 12 so a whole dress size smaller. The manager blamed me for putting on weight despite losing 5 pounds since I ordered the dress. She was damn right rude and made life very... (read more)

I've spend £900 for my wedding dress in Pronuptia in Central London-they are now under the name MIA SPOSA bridal& Menswear- very conveniently considering all of the bad reviews they were receiving!
They took my measurements, and after couple of months they have called me saying that the dress is ready and ask me to come for my first fitting. I went there with my friend, although we did arrived much earlier than our appointed time, we thought that we can ask if they can see us earlier just...

Wow thats really terrible, When spending large amounts of money you should expect nothing but first class service and treatment. I wish i had the money to have my own shop, ive worked in fashion and teach it now, its prob too late now but i would suggest you find a local seamstress who would charge less.
I have strated a website for ladies to buy and sell their gowns etc.. take a peek www.lovedboutique.com / www.lovedprom.com xx

I just need to say how happy I was with the service my friend and I received in their Grimsby store today. The 2 girls working upstairs were soooooooo nice. The gave their time and attention to meet all my friends requirements. Nothing was too much trouble including additional accessories. They were attentive, truthful and happy. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Thanks for a pleasant experience and helping my friend to find the perfect dress. Excellent! (read more)

Please be warned before you spend any money here. All very nice friendly and helpful until you have paid.
Pronuptia, Huddersfield (also own Leeds store) have left me 3 days before christmas with a dress that does not fit.
The dresses where meant to arrive start of December and came 6 days before the shop shuts before Christmas.
I arranged for my fitting explaining I would be late due to work commitments travelled over an hour and when I arrived the shop was shut. When...

This 'customer' was offered several alternative appointments for fittings, including weekends (when fittings are not normally undertaken) and after normal hours when the shop was shut. Having accepted the latter, she failed to arrive for her appointment and did not have the courtesy to phone advising she was going to be late. 35 minutes after she was due the owner gave up and went home (she has a life as well). This 'review' is a fabrication of events. Since when does 'good service' mean hanging around for someone on the off chance they might turn up? It is telling that the Bride had nothing but praise for the service she received...

Pronuptia HUDDERSFIELD is the best place to go for both value for money and the service. The staff there are extremely passionate about their jobs and strive to compliment and serve their customers with respect and excitement. They said all the suites for our wedding would be available on the Thursday before the Wedding, 2 out of 8 were missing. We insisted on trying them on in the store which was a good job because there was a lot of work needed. The 2 missing suites were promised next day before 12! Didn't arrive! Make sure you read everything before you sign your agreement! I recently bought a sample dress form the London Hatton Garden store. the service was OK but afterward I realised I had fallen for some clever sales tactics and am now stuck with a dress I dont want. there is no return option, or cooling off period, or option to even exchange with a sample dress. the most annoying and worst part of this is that I bought the dress in extremely good condition but when I returned a second time to... Generally the staff at Pronuptia Woking appear helpful. I had a very positive experience with very patient lady who helped me try on half a dozen dresses and for whom nothing was too much trouble. I have the same problem! Although my wedding is in June! I have contacted one of the numbers given on the letter - which I thought was a weird letter head especially for a company - no registration number or anything, i could have done it! My best friend is on the mission to get to the bottom of this. She has contacts to see if company house are holding any info on this. Mobile numbers ..... are even more alarming. Been on the website of this la promesse - design by tag - have you checked out the address? It should be opposite the district court! Although the letter states it's looking for new premises! I however am going over to Katherine Hamilton, West Calder - who have been ever so helpful in many ways! Suzanne don't wait around, you can still get your dress in time for your wedding if you do something now! I have and am doing it with katherine hamilton, they have a sackful of advice! If the pronuptia dress does arrive in february and you have another one - you will have the choice of two or you can cut your losses at the moment and get in touch with trading standards to find out more! DON'T WAIT ANY longer! Let me know what your outcome is and i wish you the best!!

I really feel for you having been messed around by Pronuptia like this. The Woking store did the same thing to me with my bridesmaid's dress. Despite being assured that they would handle everything from start to finish, when I called about my bridesmaid's dress three months ago, they appeared to have nothing on record for it. When I called a second time, they said that I would have to deal with a shop in Datchet (sorry, where???) a town where i have never been and have no plans to visit. It's not even in the same county as me! Fortunately my dress has been made and is currently with the seamstress. Who knows about the bridesmaid dress as I've yet to have my calls (all three) and emails (one) returned.

We approached this shop over a year ago and decided that we would buy/hire our wedding outfits from Pronuptia.....what a mistake. I should have cancelled when they called a week later saying that they had lost the bit of paper our order was on! This happened 3 times in as many months!
