Good Points: My husband and I have visited this hotel on many occasions and have always had a great tim. The staff have always bent over backwards to make our stay very pleasant we miss a year sometimes but cannot wait to pay them our next visit hopefully 2009

Bad Points: For us there are none, we just love the family as a whole and we cant wait to see them soon.

General comments: The hotel is clean and basic thats all you need in such an idilic place. Tavernas are every where, beaches are gorgeous, weather great, the airport, which is quite near the hotel we have found not to be a problem. I can truly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a quiet laid back holiday.

Value for money this was excellent. Rooms very clean and staff great. Exceptionally quiet. As a result the hotel wasn't busy enough to have the chef working the week we went, but not a problem. Anyone complaining about this hotel I can only imagine are wanting 5 star luxury, forgetting they have paid a bargain price. The hotel cost us approx £80 each b&b for the week - and at that price we could not fault the place!

All in all we enjoyed the place, we met some lovely people and we all got on really well which helps.
It is a very quiet place so make sure you hire a car.
There is nothing for the kids to do so make sure they take plenty to keep themselves amused.
I must admit I liked it even though I wasn't sure at first.
    I would go again.

I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. It is the worst place I've ever stayed, staff were so rude would not help at all all they were interested in was taking all your money off you defo get a car if you stay in Kefalonia because the rest off island is quality beware off the earthquakes though these can be a bit scary especially when one flattened the place in 1953.

The Blue Horizon Hotel is a very friendly hotel set in peaceful surroundings in Kefalonia. It is ideal if you want a relaxing, chilled out holiday. We had the pool to ourselves most of the holiday. The best restaurant is Acropolis. It is a good walk from the hotel, but worth it. The Patio area is a good place to watch the sun set. I would recommend car hire to explore the island.

The Blue Horizon Hotel is close to the airport, and the transfers are short (around 10 minutes).
It is very quiet (apart from the odd aeroplane flying overhead, which to be honest, is more of an interest than a hindrance).

The hotel is very isolated, and there are only a couple of restaurants/tavernas for you to choose from. As a couple, we like a quieter holidays, but for us the resort itself (Svoronata) was way too quiet, with very little to do or see. There were a couple of beaches (Ammes ...

We will visit the Blue Horizon Hotel in Kefalonia again. We used the facilities of the nearby Irinna Hotel with its lovely pool and garden. Forget the La Calma; it's not a good atmosphere and the wine is expensive (18 Euros for a bottle of Rose). Do eat at the hotel though, as it's good, cheap and well presented. The Al Helos beach is blue ribbon and fairly close. Do hire a car, as the island is so beautiful and it's easy to get around.

    Fabulous holiday!

We had an excellent 2 weeks at the Blue Horizon Hotel in Kefalonia. We would recommend the Svoronata resort if you like it quiet, which we do. Go to Ai Helis beach which is about a 10 minute walk, but worth it. It's quieter than Ammes, and the sea is warmer and calmer. There are about 7 or 8 restaurants within walking distance. GIANT portions at Ammes restaurant, and EXCELLENT food in Fois. Really friendly hotel, and they can't do enough for you, but you get left alone if you stay around the poo ...

Svoronata is very close to the airport, but with flights only on 2 days, and 4 flights during those days. They didn't bother us at all, and the kids seemed to think they were fun.

The good thing about this is that the transfer takes 10 minutes! It's a lovely quiet area and a 15 minute taxi to the capital Argostoli if you want a bit more nightlife without it on your doorstep.

The Blue Horizon Hotel is kept clean, and air conditioning is available in all rooms for 14 Euros. Ammes beach is o ...

The Blue Horizon Hotel in Kefalonia is absolutely brilliant! We would recommend it to anyone, and we will definitely go back (this was our second trip there). The accommodation is a little basic, but don't let that put you off.

Don't worry about the flights going over. There are less than a dozen a day. They are not during the early hours, and they are more interesting than irritating.

Overall I thought the Blue Horizon was pretty good. It was ideally situated in Svoronata, being within 10 minutes walk from Ammes Beach and about the same to most tavernas. The setting is very quiet, apart from the 4 or 5 aeroplanes which fly near to the hotel though-out the day, this being due to it's close proximity to the airport, but to be honest it didn't bother us as it was only though the day, and it was quite entertaining. We didn't eat at the hotel although I heard from other guests tha ...
