The machine is great, but buying a concept2 is not just about the purchase of a machine. It is about the encouragement they give in the forms of virtual team challenges, the online logbook, games, and actual rowing machine challenges across the country. I love my concept2 and I so so apreciate the concept2 company.

This Concept 2 Model D is a really nice piece of gear. I've only had mine a month (after a lifetime of little or no exercise), but I can already tell that I'm going to stick with it for the long-run.

I bought my first Concept 2 in 1987. It was a model B and kept that until 2003 when I bought my model D. In regards to the Concept 2 rowers, there is really nothing out there that I have hopped on that approaches the quality of work out and equipment. The last time I had my blood pressure checked it was 110/60 and I attribute that in large part to consistent erg training.

The Concept 2 Model D exercises the whole body and combines both strength and aerobic training in one workout. It is also very efficient in the amount of time necessary to get a great workout. You can easily keep yourself in great shape working out just 3x/week for 30 min. If you can stand the monotony (a TV greatly helps!) it is simply the best piece of fitness equipment that you could ever own. It will last forever and is VERY reasonably priced. I rowed in college so the movement comes easy t ...

My first Concept2 so I can't compare it to the Model C but I can say that I love my erg. Best piece of exercise equipment I have ever used.

I am a rower that works out everyday after school using these ergs. they have been pretty reliable over the years and im looking to buy one because the older models are too loud and less practical and i wanta know how well im doing compared to other people and to check myself at home the same as at the boathouse

We had previously had another Concept2 rowing machine. The retraction mechanism on it broke, but it was old.

The Concept 2 Model D Rowing Machine is a good machine, but the First Degree Fluid Rower is better value. It also has a smoother action and a more comfortable seat. The display is not as good as the Concept (which can link to a PC to race others over the Web), but it is more than adequate. The Fluid Rower is also c£939, but is selling for same amount c$1600 in the US.

We have 21 ergs. We won a Concept 2 Model D. It's the newest, sleekest (as the other 20 are model C's). The kids will only use it when the others are full. Why? It rocks slightly from side to side due to an engineering defect where the body of the erg is connected to the horizontal frame (where the wheels are attached). As a rowing club doing a variety of drills, the kids find the computer too cumbersome to use quickly. I would recommend to a friend to buy a used model C before buying a D; if ...

My rowing club recently bought a Concept 2 Model D, but it is only used when the older models are all taken. The handle may well be an ergonomic improvement on the last, but is to unlike a sweep-oar blade to use for training. Similarly the motion is not as sharp as the previous Concept2, and is less like that on water. This model seems to be designed with the broader demographic in mind: it may be excellent for gym users & the great unwashed, but rowers would do well to avoid forking out this am ...

The Concept 2 Model D is a nice piece of engineering. Smoother, quieter with lots more programming to misunderstand on the meter, the Model D is certainly a slick product.

I like it very much, especially the angled handle. I have heard brute force merchants comment that they couldnt get the same response as from the Model C when giving it a good yank towards the end of the stroke. However for those interested in practising for the water and not just indoor rowing this has to be a good thin ...
