Good Points: On line list and shops in most towns, plus reasonable price ranges to suit all budgets
Bad Points: Hopeless website, poor service, low stock levels and very poor choice.
General comments: We set up our list on line and then went to the Leeds store to choose things for the list. We were shown how to use the scanner and spent a few hours carefully choosing all the things we really wanted. There wasn't an awful lot of choice, even though it's the biggest store for miles around.
However, when we got back to the desk to upload the list, the assistant showed us on the computer that about half the items we had so carefully chosen were highlighted pink, meaning of limited availability. They have no way of telling you which items these are until after you've chosen them.
Having spent 3 hours in a boiling hot shop and it now being 6pm, we couldn't do any more that day but were told that we could change and add things on line.
We have had no end of problems with the online system; it's really not user friendly, and if you want 2 things from the same range you have to go through the whole system twice. On top of that, you still can't tell what's out of stock or limited stock until you have put it on your list, which is incredibly frustrating. At the moment about half our list is either of limited availability or out of stock. Five guests have tried to buy something and only one has been able to get it. My advice is to set up your list somewhere else!

My husband and I registered with Debenhams for all the good points I have listed. The other gift registries we had seen were either providing gifts of a too low quality or a too high quality, and we wanted something in between.
We went into store and stood around in the Wedding List section for about 5 minutes whilst the assistants had a chat to each other, though we made it obvious we wanted to speak to them. We registered our list and were made aware that we could compile the list 3 months ...

We have held our wedding gift list at Debenhams for the last 2 weeks and in all that time I have been unable to access my list online. I have e-mailed them 4 times but no reply and I have telephoned every day, holding on for 10 mins each time. I am very unhappy with the customer care/service and have written one last e-mail informing them that I will take my list elsewhere if they don't respond by tonight. Also haven't received the £50 gift card which they said at registering, that we w ...

We used Debenhams Gift List service for our wedding in June of 2003. It was very easy to sign up and came with perks such as a gold card, free use of the personal shopper, free makeover and Debenhams gives you a percentage of the total value of purchases made by your guests in vouchers as a free gift.
What you do is go in and sign up and they give you a little hand-held scanner. You then walk around the store and choose the items for your list by scanning the bar code. At the end (this wi ...
