When we got engaged we set a date just five months ahead for our wedding so I had limited time to organise a dress " most designers want 6 months. I was also not really looking forward to the finding process having been through what felt like every dress, lace, veil and general wedding caboodle shop in London with my best friend a couple of years ago and concluded that not only am I missing the wedding gene and that there is a lot of tat out there. Johanna Hehir were brilliant, and responded to my not very helpful " ' I don ' t know, put me in dresses that you think will suit me ' approach by doing exactly that. I wanted a beautifully made, understated, classic dress with a twist of originality and that is exactly what all five I tried were. The finished dress is beautiful, a perfect fit and all the advice they gave me was spot on (for example, when a strapless dress does up at the final fitting it must be tight otherwise you ' ll be heaving it up all night once it ' s warmed up and ' given ' a bit). A lot of time was spent getting it perfect at the fittings and they also accommodated endless faffing over which necklace to wear etc, which veil, how to tie it up for dancing and so on. The thing I particularly liked about my dress was it ' s versatility " it is very plain but had a sash and a lace shrug to wear in church " so went from church to late evening dancing very easily and it even looked good when the train was tied up for dancing. The other fabulous thing about it is that it is made of beautiful heavy silk and can therefore be dyed to wear as an evening dress which could not be done with a man-made fabric. Johanna Hehir use beautiful fabrics and produce top quality dresses, made in the UK for each individual bride. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend.

I stumbled across the johanna Hehir website on google search and found a dress unlike any i had seen on their website. I was immediately intriqued however i was five months pregnant so i was concerned that i wouldn't be able to try it on. I arranged a consultation during which i could see that the dress was such fantastic quality and the girl was so accommodating in helping me to see how it would look that i immediately put down a deposit. I didn't have a fitting until after i had had the baby a ...

A beautifully made dress was produced for me at short notice by a team of professional, friendly staff. Any changes to the dress were dealt with promptly and they understood what look I wanted to achieve. All fittings are done in a comfortable environment and adjustments were precise. Wonderfully friendly staff. They all made me feel very welcome and even though on my first visit I didn't have an appointment, they helped me start choosing what type of dress I would like. On my wedding day I felt ...

It was a great experience from the first day - when I tried many different styles to find mine - to the actual wedding day - when I felt like a princess in a stunning dress - by the several appointments with the patient staff (just to make sure this was the right dress) and the enjoyable fittings. The professional service made me relax and feel confident that I will get the perfect dress for me and in time. And it all happened! So I really recommend Johanna Hehir and their great team!

I believe that some people understand what weddings are about - they are a big day and people want to receive excellent service when parting with almost £3,000 pounds. Nice dresses, pot luck on staff.

I would recommend Johanna Hehir to EVERYONE who's looking for the perfect dress. The whole experience was fantastic. They won't rush you, they make you feel very special and there's no pressure to buy. But they have the most fantastic dresses so most people probably come back and buy one anyway! I actually thought I had found THE dress before I went to my appointment at Johanna Hehir - but they proved me wrong... They asked me a few questions and came back with a few dresses she thought I should ...

The service was considerate and efficient. Nothing was pushed at me, however I was guided towards suitable styles. The fittings were not rushed and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I would recommend the knowledgeable and friendly staff at Johanna Hehir. My dress was stunning and I received so many compliments. The fit was perfect and I felt confident, glamorous and stylish in my chosen style. I only wish I could wear it again!

The wonderful staff at Johanna Hehir made the experience of buying my wedding dress very special and not at all stressful, despite the short notice I gave them! I will be recommending Johanna Hehir highly to any friends who get engaged in the future! Of all the wedding dress shops my best friend and I visited, theirs was by far the most friendly, helpful and fun; and the gowns were the most beautiful and well-made of any I tried. I loved the fact the dress was made to measure, not just altered t ...

Johanna Hehir, London - I searched all over london for a simple classic dress- and after 40 dresses finally found what I was looking for here! They really do offer a great selection and something a little bit different from all the other stores. I also really appreciated them never being heavy on the sales pitches that a lot of other stores adopt!

Johanna Hehir were absolutely amazing and my dress on my big day was absolutely beautiful. I loved that I could pick bits and pieces from other dresses to add to mine, so that it was totally personal. I very much appreciated the advice the team gave and the attention to detail they all had. I felt like the team wanted to get it as right as I did from hems to fit to stitching etc. I appreciated that we had four fittings, as was necessary, despite tight deadlines. I loved the whole experie ...

It so important that you find a dress that not only looks good but also feel good. I absolutely loved my dress and felt really confident which helps when everyone is looking at you all day long! I had so many comments about the dress - everyone loved it. It even survived the limbo dancing to the steel band! I would absolutely recommend Johanna Hehir to any bride going through the trauma of dress hunting!

Johanna Hehir was the third or fourth shop I had visited and was pretty disillusioned by then. Luckily JH was different. There was no hard sell, hovering assistants trying to get you to buy accessories, sweat stains or hoards of other slightly drunken brides-to-be being served champagne. It was peaceful and serene and everyone was lovely and totally professional. The process was also wonderfully simple. I walked through the door, the assistant looked me up and down and recommended a dress, I ...

I was quite nervous walking into Johanna Hehir on my first appointment, I had no idea what to expect. The moment I went into the store I was made to feel at ease and there was no pressure to buy anything. They gave me really good advice on how to tailor the dress I liked to suit my particular body shape and it really worked. All through the whole experience I was made to feel special and like I was the only person that mattered. They have a very personal approach which was great. The gown also t ...

I had not enjoyed previous visits to wedding shops and not really bothered too much about my wedding dress until I saw one of the designs at Johanna Hehir. Went down (from Manchester) initially to try on the dress I'd seen and ended up with my own unique design. Only downside was having to travel so far for my appointments.

Review of Johanna Hehir, London - I didn't really have any idea as to what kind of wedding dress I wanted but the team at Johanna Hehir made me feel at ease from the start, letting me try on a number of styles and offering advice as to what would suit me best. Each fitting session was relaxed and enjoyable and I really felt like the team were working to make me look my best on my big day. I lost count of the "beautiful bride" comments I received on my wedding day, which is definitely testament ...

I was not really looking forward to the whole "wedding dress shopping" experience but Johanna Hehir completely changed that. It was all so much easier and more fun than I had expected. The staff allowed me to choose my dresses and then suggested some of their own that they felt would suit my shape. I never felt overwhelmed or pushed into making a decision. Once I had decided on a dress, all the fittings were equally easy & fun - no fuss, friendly and attentive staff. I cannot praise all the ...

I fell in love with my bias cut dress the minute I put it on. It was an unusual dress and I was showered with compliments on my big day. The staff at the shop were patient, attentive and more than willing to fit in a last minute alteration to my dress the week of my wedding. Thank you everyone at Johanna Hehir - I would not hesitate to recommend you.

I recently bought my wedding dress at Johanna Hehir. After numerous horrific experiences at bridal stores, I was relieved to be personally welcomed and all my needs met. I was most definitely a bridezilla, and the guys at Johanna Hehir patiently helped me not only calm, but find that perfect dress. The service was so personal, I met the designer and all the people involved in its production and all of the seamstresses are actually in London and create each gown bespoke. The product you're lef ...

As I'm a generous size 16-18 as opposed to a more petite 10-12, I felt that having a wedding dress made to measure would be my best option - this was coupled with the fact that I didn't want traditional white/ivory. Staff at Johanna Hehir, listened to my imprecise wish list on Day 1, made invaluable suggestions and took me step by step through what was a really enjoyable process. The end result was a fabulous ruby red evening style dress and matching shrug which fitted brilliantly, making the mo ...
