    Good Points: Great rooms..excellent pools...good food


    Bad Points: Lack of entertainment..poor drinks..kids bored


    General comments: Tucancun Beach Hotel:
    My main problem before we went was weather to take peso or dollar. we found this does not really matter as all shops will price you in either currency although the hotel staff prefer tips in dollar, as we found out when we tipped a waiter in peso and he complained and said," next time dollar" cheek of it..heres a tip..there won't be a next time..the food at this hotel was very good to start with but we found after a fortnight stay it didn't vary much but the quality was always of a very high standard. Drinks were limited in variety and most drinks were served as slush. My biggest fault with this hotel was the entertainment. To put it nicely ..it was awful...It consisted of nightly 1hr shows with the same dancers and these were repeated weekly so if your stay is 2wks then be prepared to be bored. The shows, in my opinion, are not suitable for children. the woman are scantily dressed leaving very little to the imagination. at one point my husband asked,"where are their poles"..after the shows the entertainment staff are more concerned with how many night club tickets can they sell instead of entertaining people. Although there was no kids club I still expected the children to have some kind of entertainment. but there was absolutely nothing for kids. luckily ours were happy spending all day in the pool. if you would like further info or answers to specific questions about this hotel or Cancun, please feel free to e-mail me for an honest account of it on layfie@ntlworld.com. and a big hi to Cheryl and Dawn...
