    Good Points: Quite peaceful when we came back from the beach about 7pm. This lasted for all of the evening until the dogs start barking after midnight. The owner of these dogs needs talking to.


    Bad Points: Lots of dogs barking during the night. The noise seemed to come from buildings down in the fields about 400 yards from the apartments. Would not go back to these apartments for this very reason. Had very little sleep during our holiday in early Sept 2008.Also the cockerels start crowing about 3.30am but we have that before in Greece.


    General comments: Some Tour operators describe the Whitehouse & Two Brothers apartments as being fairly close to the beach. This is untrue. They are a good 25 minute walk away. When we went on 4th Sept 2008 the temp was 40 deg and stayed like this for the rest of the week. The trek down to the beach across the main road and along the winding path took at least 25 mins. We are both over 60. Nevertheless we would go back to Zante and probably to Kalamaki as it has a beautiful beach and is a peaceful resort. (meaning there's no rowdy behaviour). The church bells didn't bother us in the morning. We get this in England as well!! Kalamaki is a nice resort and met all our expectations. The beach, restaurants and shops were fine. We would go back to this resort but stay somewhere closer to the beach.

    The maid was miserable and rubbish. We were ill one night of our stay, and the bed sheets weren't cleaned or taken away! The rooms didn't have air conditioning so we had 2 pay 20 euro for a fan that didn't work properly. Just behind the apartments there were cockerals that wouldn't be quiet, swarkin all through the night and morning, and the other side there was dogs barking. On the weekends there is a bell that starts at 7.30am and on sunday there was a man thats singing from 8.00am on a microp ...

    The Whitehouse Apartments were basic, the wardrobe and bottom less drawer were the only places to store clothes. The Beds were missing a few planks. If you stay 14 nights and you have a night flight, you have to vacate the room at 12 miday, as the room is booked for when you fly out. Do not go to Country Taverna, you will wait there all night, no fast food there. Infact the opposite!
