Good Points: The food was edible, I do not understand how people can complain, it's a 2 star hotel not a 5. There was plenty of food and it was also changed daily so you were not eating the same thing. The staff were really friendly and the pool was lovely.

    Bad Points: Not much entertainment.

General comments: Me and my boyfriend went to the Monteverde Hotel in July 2008 for our first holiday and we really enjoyed it. The room was really basic what do you expect in a 2 star. For the time we spent in their anyway, we weren't bothered. I feel people with bad comments are moaning over nothing and are in fact nit picking. Go their and have your own view of the place. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and the one in the hotel does not close until 1 am, so where people got 7 o clock from is beyond me.
Overall our holiday was great and we had no problems in the hotel what so ever.

I would not advise you to go to this hotel. I think it is more of a run down hostel. The food is poor, rooms are very basic, some staff are slow to deal with requests and seem miserable and the location is poor. The pool area is dirty, the few sunbeds available are broken and so are the two umbrellas. There is no entertainment to speak of. Even if this hotel was free, I would never go there again.

Porto Cristo is a lovely port town but is only worth a day visit. It is not geared up for touris ...

For the price we paid for the Monteverde Hotel and what we actually went on holiday for (peace and quite), we couldn't grumble. It was very clean and the maid service was excellent. As we went in October there wasn't much night life, but we could easily have got a bus into Sa Coma for a night out if we'd wanted at 1.40 euro and return by taxi at about 10 euros. The Alibi bar is 10 minutes walk away so when the hotel bar closed at 12 we often wandered down there. It's run by a friendly Englis ...

Monteverde Hotel has lovely rooms, the food was lovely and the all inclusive option was even better. Nobody tells You the lovely beach in Porto Christo Novo! Go there! It's beautiful there! Only three kilometres distance. You can go by little train, bus or bicycle.

    Strong buy!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Monteverde Hotel for a week at the start of September this year.

The hotel itself was nice, think it has been recently renovated in the lobby and bar/restaurant areas. The room is quite small but it is fine for what you need, all rooms have a balcony either looking out over the pool or the harbour. The bar was nice, plenty of seating inside and out, pool tables and games machines; also I think there was a computer with internet although we didn't use it. The ...

The Monteverde Hotel was nice and clean and the maids cleaned rooms daily, the pool was nice and clean and a good size. They stopped serving drinks at 12pm and bar staff were rushing you. They stopped serving snacks at 1 in afternoon, the snacks were not very nice, and they were often cold. The poolside bar would close at 5pm so you had to go to the main bar in the hotel. The bar staff were not very friendly. The dining room were full of flies and the food was the same most days. The entertai ...

The Monteverde Hotel offered an all inclusive holiday. The food was excellent for the first 3 days as long as you were Spanish Or French as they catered mainly for there taste, but as the hotel filled mainly with Scottish holiday makers the quality of food dropped dramatically, service at pool side for snacks only between 10am -1.pm
Bar 1 member of staff, there was a 10 to 15 min wait for a drink. Also there was a lack of branded drinks, all inclusive basis supplied you with local drinks and ...
