    we stayed in the Tropical from the 25th August to 2nd September. What a lovely hotel. Situated on the top of the cliffs the sea view was fantastic.The staff were lovely. Cleaned the room every day changed the towels, replaced loo rolls, made the beds. Spotless. Definitely the best self catering hotel i've ever stayed in. Not abit of rubbish anywhere. Most of the guests were Germans and tended to keep to themselves. Not much happening in the evenings though. The restaurant was a bit limited but definitely go to their BBQ night, food and choice was fantastic. Their buffet night was good too. Loads of restaurants nearby, so plenty of choice, and the fish was out of this world. Try not to buy anything from the shops nearby, the prices are OUTRAGEOUS, instead Take a bus into Canico town, costs one euro easypeasy. All the locals are very friendly.
